Another Whopping Big Wasp

Boy, we sure grow some HUGE wasps here in Connecticut! It was difficult to get all of him in the picture. This another SOOC where I had to be practically touching him to get this. (I did add a "drop shadow.") At the time, it didn't occur to me that a really huge wasp would probably have a really huge stinger...LOL
(My boo-boo thumb is infinitelty better this morning, and my spirits are back up. BIG :-)

I'm so glad that you appreciate my photograph of this incredible (and I think, beautiful) insect. I can tell you it takes a very steady hand, and real determination to stick it out for a shot like this where he and his buddies are flying around, they are NOT happy with me. But I love pictures like these, in part, because by nosing right up to something in a really close macro, I am able to see things that I never saw before, and it is thrilling for me.
