Don't be silly: of course it's not THAT big. LOL But it sure hurts as if it were. I went to the hand surgeon yesterday; my thumb is only 50% of where he wanted it to be. Oh bother!! The good doctor first had to mash my thumb around checking for range of motion, etc. Not good at all. Soooo, another shot of Cortisone - YeeeeOuch! Holy mother of god! It's liquid fire being be injected DEEP into your ligaments and tendons. This is the last thing to try; if it doesn't heal, I'm looking at surgery. I'll know in a month. Surgery just won't do, so I will have to heal. I asked for his thoughts on the power of the mind, and body, and prayer to heal; his response was very gratifying. He is a strong proponent of seeing what the body, and Mother Nature can do before turning to the scalpel; I heartily concur. He is hopeful, and he let me have MY hope and conviction that I'l be "be as right as rain" in a month. However, he also said, "A positive, hopeful attitude is great, and can be powerful, BUT, let's not be fanciful. Sometimes something is just too damaged to heal on it's own." Sorry for the "narrative", it's just that is a big deal to me, and I was hoping for better news. Good news: I'm out of the soft cast, and have only firm brace, my shoulder and neck are fine, and my wrist is coming along great! BIG :-) Right now, the pain is pretty out of control, so I'm going to "sign off" for a day or so. Les x
(p.s. Used the "fisheye" setting here :-) Had to have some fun with it)

Well, technically speaking it's a great photo: the fish-eye (?) perspective is a great way for symbolizing your pain. Also a big compliment for sharing this with us. I wish you all the best, Les.
@denisedaly@shellbelle@mwarren365@nicolecampbell@kdrinkie@mjmaven@cath@ralfb@hudd Hey thanks everyone for your kind wishes, (and for looking at such a ridiculous picture!) I had to do SOMEthing whacky to take my mind off the day's experience. I feel pretty much myself again, and I'm looking forward to catching up on your work if time permits. Gracious thanks to you all, Les x
Nice perspective. I had a hip injury that caused arthritis and had one surgery and will end up with a replacement in January. I tried to do healthy things but for me I was really losing my active ways and ability to exercise so for me surgery gives me the chance to be me again.
