Just Because... by graemestevens

Just Because...

Just a quick shot today as I'm still lumbered with the Safety Specialist and pushed for time. The natural progression here was the overwhelming desire to burn something, and as it's not the done thing to set fire to colleagues I decided that a flower would have to do. I'm hoping that @kimkyra was finished with it...I guess I'll soon find out.
they do look cool alight - the colours go well together

Just love that you set fire to a flower. that makes me happy. And that it makes me so happy makes me worry about myself. Burn baby burn...sometimes it's flower overload on 365!:)
July 25th, 2014
Oh and cool shot, too!
July 25th, 2014
I like the contrast of the content.... Beautiful soft flower vs. strong, fierce fire. Nice!
July 25th, 2014
@shannejw Thanks - might have to burn more!
@amandal You can certainly tell where in the world spring is! And thanks very much.
@eyeamlisa Thanks very much...just felt the need to strike a spark!
July 25th, 2014
Nice Graeme, I didn't know they were flammable.
July 25th, 2014
@bigugly Thanks - I may have cheated and put something on it, but I can neither confirm nor deny
July 25th, 2014
pretty cool
July 25th, 2014
Very cool shot, whether you cheated or not.
July 25th, 2014
Mmmm...arsonist in the making leaves trace of his origins? Still, an intriguing outcome!
July 25th, 2014
Congrats for not burning the Safety Specialist!
July 25th, 2014
Edgy. I can feel your angst ...
July 25th, 2014
"Not done to set fire to colleagues"????? Must've missed that memo ;)
July 25th, 2014
Hi Graeme! I don't know if you realize how much creativity you have! I do! I love this shot, I love thst we saw fire and flowers in focus. I love the color... I love it. Finally, it's a FAV.
July 25th, 2014
Interesting shot. effective combination of pink flower and flame.
July 25th, 2014
@pittcj17 Thanks very much :)
@rangerxenos I had no choice - they're not naturally flammable it would seem...and thanks
@taffy In the making? I think it was April when I spent most of the month setting fire to things...and thanks very much
@voiceprintz It was a close call...
@beschnett Thanks very much
@northy LOL, I wish I had - it would be completely different photo!
@daneau Thank you very much, it's much appreciated!
@pusspup Thanks - just a quick shot as time was running out unfortunately
July 25th, 2014
Fantastic.....but really it's only not proper to set fire to colleagues if you're caught...shhhhh....we shall never speak of this again.....
July 25th, 2014
@deak68 thanks, but I have to ask...speak of what again?
July 25th, 2014
FIRE!!!!! yes! I love your fire series! such a great shot. FAV
July 25th, 2014
@andrewkru thanks very much. I haven't burned anything for a long time because the weather hasn't been playing the game. Waiting patiently for spring...
July 25th, 2014
Love it! Nice contrasting colors and of course love it when you light things on fire :)
July 25th, 2014
Have you tried using a black ceramic wall tile? You can get a great reflection in those. Perfect for your low key shots. And fireproof! :)
July 25th, 2014
Back to fire shots, that makes this old heart beat faster!
July 25th, 2014
When I scrolled down to your photo I thought " its a flame" then "no, it's a flower" then " nooooooo, its Graeme burning a flower!" It's just not right!
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens nothing...ummmm..year..nothing wink wink
July 25th, 2014
@creativefool Thanks very much, I'm just waiting on the weather to cooperate for more...
@andrewkru I haven't but now I'll have to...thanks for tip. True story - I was setting up a fire shot last week which involved me in some fireproof clothing that I use I work...I seem to be having a lack of eyebrow at the moment...
@ceilidh There may be more, just depends on the weather!
@deliad So...what about me is right? ;)
@deak68 That's what I thought... ;)
July 25th, 2014
@bigugly I think everything is flammable in Graemes vicinity - he could make ice burn hahahahaha - nice to see an original flora pic
July 25th, 2014
@annied Making ice burn...now there's a challenge! And thanks, as always :)
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens I don't think the use of accelerant is cheating it is just a tool to achieve the desired outcome
July 25th, 2014
@annied I used to tell my teachers that I was simply "using all available resources to achieve a goal"...it always went down so well...
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens well I would give you a sticker for creativity and a detention for giving me a headache - and then get you to show me how you did it hahahahahaha
July 25th, 2014
@annied ahhhh...fond memories of detentions you may be surprised to know that I had a few of those in my time. I even got told to remove myself from the science class after a near "meltdown" in an "I wonder what will happen if" moment. I was just about t the point of epiphany when I was discovered mixing things that should stay well apart...
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens I am shocked that it was only a few detentions - or were you toning it down so as not to appear a show off hahahahaha
July 25th, 2014
@annied I couldn't possibly say how many. I blame the elephants entirely - I've found you can never trust anything with skin that doesn't fit.
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens I am wary of those without sin hahahahahaha
July 25th, 2014
@annied That's pretty much a phrase to live by!
July 25th, 2014
@graemestevens indeed it is hahahahahaha
July 25th, 2014
Cool shot or should that be hot shot :-)
July 25th, 2014
I'm surprised you were allowed into a science lab….. Great shot - poor flower!
July 25th, 2014
Another brilliantly creative shot, Graeme. Where do you get your ideas and inspiration from...is it from the safety specialist? ;) This is a fav for me and you have a good weekend mate.
July 25th, 2014
Glad I dropped by.
July 25th, 2014
@hermann Thanks, it was a just a quickie though, no time for much else!
@dide It was always a surprise for me as well, and not a subject a excelled at! Thanks very much as well, appreciated.
@davie Most of my ideas come from listening to music while walking the dogs...this came from boredom and the overwhelming desire to hurt someone...have a good one as well!
@newbank Thanks, so am I :)
July 25th, 2014
i agree with Lisa...like the soft of the flower and harshness of the fire....
July 25th, 2014
Fabulous detail and composition....not all that common to come across a scene such as this...
July 25th, 2014
@livvy thanks very much
@tellefella Thanks very much - unfortunately the more you follow me the more you'll see this sort of oddity...
July 26th, 2014
Stunning shot Graeme, fav for me.
July 26th, 2014
@golftragic Thanks very much :)
July 26th, 2014
Wonderful capture love the contrast between flower life and fire death....deep .... fav! I also agree with Amanda a bit of a flower overload on 365 I am going to try and make a vow not to take a photo of a flower for my second half of the year! :)
July 26th, 2014
@tracelee Thanks very much, I look forward to your second half ;)
July 27th, 2014
Being a flower person, I am crying over here as you are torching this beautiful plant...sniff, sniff!
July 30th, 2014
@harbie MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
