I went out to try and get some shots of the stormy weather that was coming our way without much success. As I looked way up I saw the moon in a patch of momentarily clear sky.
@maggotx Holy cow,Mag! Thank yo so very much. I find it very hard to believe you haven't ever shot the moon. Don't tell Robert it was without my tripod.....again!
I love this photo. I took a photo similar to this today as I sat outside for a bit and noticed the moon. I did not notice that I had blurry thin branches in the photo from the neighbors tree until I loaded it on my computer. Nicely done with the clouds and blue sky.
Katy I can see the craters of the moon and it's arising from the cloud mist OR it's a mushroom moon. I think you nailed it with mushroom moon. I like it
A few days ago it was just a tiny crescent..does it depend on where you live? it's too cloudy out there for me to try to see the moon. we had a terrible storm all night and all day today.. finally at around 6 pm it subsided.
This is a beautiful photo Katy. It reminds me of the one called "Earthrise" that an astronaught took from space many years ago. It has the same feeling of remoteness and tranquil beauty. (Gosh, I've waffled on a bit there, sorry about that!). Anyway, it's a fav!
once the Spring Semester is over and we move into late May I will be in better shape again :) Until then it's tricky....
