Although I have been to Australia and seen Koalas, Wallabies and Kangaroos I don't remember hearing about a Bilby. This is a Bilby which is on the endangered list. It is a marsupial that is being promoted as the Easter Bilby to raise public awareness for its endangered position.
I might never have heard of it except for the thoughtfulness of Leonie who included it in the box she sent me.
By the way, the Chicos are all but gone!
This is so CUTE and I love how you chose his surroundings...all is silvery and gray and neutral. Leonie @onie_m ...how nice of you to send a care package! With a ...rodent? ...in it. hee hee
@onie_m He is so sweet and now his awareness has been raised world wide! Albeit to a limited audience! (;
I guess I failed because I DID let the sun set on the open bag of chicos. In my defense I didn't even open it until the sun had set so maybe that counts for something?
I never let the sun go down on an open bag of chico's!!!
Rodent??? Rodent you say?????
It's a marsupial...like a kangaroo!!!!
(it does look a bit like a rat :) )
An adult male Bilby can weight up to 2.5kg, with body length up to 55cm plus a tail of up to 29cm. Females are about
half the size of males.

You have educated me a bit this morning.
