2.03 pm: Taken in nearby Park Cronesteyn. During this time of year the ground is completely covered with bear garlic (daslook in Dutch) which exudes a heavy onion-like smell.
There used to be a castle here but all that's left of it now are parts of the moat. The castle itself was demolished in the 16th century during the Eighty Years' War against Spain.
aha - we were out walking yesterday and "wild garlic" was pointed out to me - is this the same thing I wonder? lots of it where we were. Great shot - looks quiet and still
