Jenny

This the elder of our two black Labradors. Jenny is 15 years old & definitely on borrowed time. She sleeps most of the time in front of the Aga just going outside for the necessary little walk when she needs to. She has been the best friend any one could wish for, so good natured! She used to let the grand children climb all over her when they were little & has never ever snapped at any one. She wears a ribbon so we can tell which dog is which although that is easy now.As you can see her back legs tend to go in different directions a bit & she has trouble getting up & down but at the moment she's just about holding her own. It will be a sad day when the end comes!
oh...it is hard to watch them age...she is so adorable...give her a hug from me

What a beautiful old lady! I love her wisened looks and her ribbon. A beautiful tribute to her, so she'll never be forgotten, even when her time comes.

Aww Pat , this is a a sad picture, but it is brightened up by your words ,describing the joy that Jenny has brought to you and your family. Give her a 'pat' (no pun intended) on her head from everyone on 365 :)

We had a 'rescued' whippet who lived with us for 13 years (she was 3 when we rescued her), we lost her in 2008, her back legs went too !!! A home needs a dog though and eventually we 'rescued' another whippet, the lovely and lively Ruby !!!!

Oh, what a beautifully poignant portrait of your sweet Jenny. I can feel the love you've shared for so many years. I'll not go any further with my comments for fear I will cry. Hugs to your precious girl ~

Dear old Jenny - what a beautiful, gentle companion. Sending a gentle cuddle to her from Australia. We had a golden retriever who lasted till 20 years old but we had to put her to sleep when life got too hard for her. They are beautiful friends aren't they.

She's obviously very well loved. It's always sad when a pet passes, although pet always seems the wrong word to me, they are a member of the family. I hope she has a while to go, health allowing, and enjoys the arga to its fullest. :)

Oh Pat - you're making me cry with your lovely loyal dog!! She's had a fantastic life on a farm though and now has her very own Aga - there are lot's of dogs that would give wonky back legs to have had that life....

What a beautiful old girl! We have a blue heeler around the same age, with much the same issues - lots of arthritis through the back legs, but he still seems to be enjoying life. Lovely photo and sentiments.

@snowy @sparkle @digitalrn @peggysirk @murnane @sabresun @judithg @giselle Jenny says thank you so much for all your kind thoughts ! You're right Judith she has had such a great life!! On tablets now & she doesn't appear to be in any pain at the moment but we are monitoring the situation . Harry missed going to NZ last year because he wouldn't leave her so she is pretty tying but there you go !!!
