Not the best picture but thought the look on this chaps face says it all ! I have no idea who he is & if he knows the girl but clearly he has only eyes for her & not the cow ! Best viewed large to catch his expression ! The little boy in the jacket with yellow on is our nephew Harry ..the little hen boy, his dad was a steward on the cattle lines.
LOL - I bet your Harry only had eyes for the cow - proper farmer!! This reminds me of a story my friend who grew up on a farm in NZ tells us. When he was 15 he had to lead a bull round a huge arena with enormous crowds of farmers watching the 'Best in Show' parade. Unfortunately the best 'cow with calf' were ahead of them and his bull was suitably impressed by the cow. Obviously a bull is a powerful beast and he didn't stand a chance of stopping him from attempting to have his merry way - and he ended up being dragged around the arena holding a bull who was busily mounting an unimpressed cow!! Much to the hilarity of the crowd of course which included all of his school mates and every one of their neighbours - I think that's why he escaped to England!!
@judithg How funny Judith & thanks for telling us !! How mortifying for the guy in front of all his mates & they are a pretty earthy lot in New Zealand so there would be lots of ribald comments too !!! You're right I think Harry would be concentrating on the cow ..or would he !!!!
Actually, both men seem to be more interested in the handler than the cow. I'm also laughing at Judith's little story too Pat. How funny. Glad the weather held off so that you could get through all the activities.
@murnane Your'e right Marg I thought the other guy was having a good look too !! These farmer types hey !!! @jmj@sparkle@sarah19 Thanks to you all ! I post these photos but when I look at other peoples pictures I realise what a lot I have to learn but I do hope some of my shots do quite interest people sometimes !!
I know it is in a wet and damp Lancashire but what's with the cow having a French bib / silk scarf around it's middle ? :)
Is it une belle vache noir :)
@judithg : Haha :). Love that story, too, but the poor guy...
