Prize onions. by happypat

Prize onions.

These woppers were the winners in their class in the vegetable section. The guy who entered them wasn't happy with them as he said they weren't ripe ! If you look closely you can see that they are still growing because the stalk has risen up were it was cut. By the end of the weekend this bit had grown half an inch. His dad was a champion onion grower & this is his dads cup he has won!!
that is crazy they look huge...

Now they'd go a long way in a stir-fry .. or casserole .. or shepherd's pie ... Great shot!

Wahey - thanks Pat - this is great stuff! Fancy that middle bit growing so fast. Cracking shot too with all the others in the background. Fave for me even without gas & air!!

So, an onion growers son hey - didn't realise it was a generational thing. Great looking onions - would be lovely in a salad.

Love this - the story and the composition of those onions, and the colour. Beautiful.

Pat, great POV and you certainly know your onions in Lancashire

I bet Joe Makinson would be proud of those two onions.
