On my bike ride the other evening I stopped to take photo of this view & then this tractor drew in & started baling this hay into round bales. I thought it was good timing on my part or his !! The hay smelt really sweet & will be very welcome in the winter months.
Beyond the tractor you can just see the river I had to pay to cross. On the hill you can also see our house which was part of the reason I stopped where I did. You can see the farm buildings to the right of our white house. You can also see the tops of the other house in our little lane.
Absolutely lovely photo, looks like you ride a bit of a distance. Is the hay for dairy cows? I wish it was green like that here. The green and yellow of the JD is pretty distintcive.A very popular tractor around here.
@phil_howcroft Blimey I can't believe you noticed that - I do believe we have a farming board game my John Deere at one point - it wasn't as rubbish as it sounds!! Gorgeous landscape Pat - you cycled a long way - you can't beat Lancashire on a sunny summer's evening!
great scene - I'm gutted, I seem to have missed all the harvest and baling...I was so looking forward to sitting next to a field with dust flying and watching the farm hands go about their business. There aren't any fully cropped fields left round my way. I'll have to hope I see some on my travel next week!
Enjoy the sunshine when you can! Bit grey and chilly with us!
Thanks for sharing ........oh and a John Deere tractor too :)
