I am not a lover of BBQ's but today has been so lovely that we had to get it out. We used to have a very large BBQ with a great big heavy cylinder but before they went home to NZ our son & daughter- in-law bought us this really handy light one with a little gas bottle that slots in the side. We can easily just fire it up with no effort or messing about. We have shipped the big one to our daughters where they entertain more than us ! Lesley used to do all the BBQ cooking before she went to NZ & I used to sit there with my glass of wine waiting until it was cooked . The cooking roll has fallen on Harry now & he is quite happy with that! This is our £10 meal from Booths ..2 sirloin steaks ( admittedly small) carrots & parsnips mashed, pudding & 1 bottle of wine! We have supplemented it a bit & this is Harry's steak , he likes it better done than me! Not going to cook onions on it again though , they fell through the slats !
Sorry I have been lax with the comments last night & today. We were out last night quite late & it's amazing how behind you get !
Looks very pristine that BBQ!! Delicious but it's not often I can be bothered BBQing & Nigel's terrible for burning everything - I leave it to the kids now - or will do if we ever get sunshine again!!
looks perfect..........I did sit at the Patio table today but didn't get the length of BBQ. Nice to enjoy someone else's cooking too. I had that luxury too as the fish man comes to 'The Square' on Saturdays and Allan loves to experiment with new fish recipes! Hope the sun shines a bit more...............forecast not so good I fear!
@judithg It's pristine because it's only the 2nd time we've used it although Harry is a stickler for cleaning it afterwards! @jmj@digitalrn@tsingtao Been glorious today so it makes a change sitting not having to wrap up warm to eat our food ! @sarah19 I do like a man that likes doing a bit of cooking !!
great shot - we had a BBQ today too - the weather was just amazing wasn't it? re getting behind on comments, It's been 5 days for me...catching up is going to take hours!! :o)
we ate el fresco tonight too Pat, although we don't own a barbie...tuna and pasta cooked in a white wine, tomatoes onions and garlic sauce ...all done from first principals by me :)..i like the angle of the shot here:)
Ooo, this is a Q Webber, am I right? We have one and they are fantastic. You can get a plate for them as well (to stop the onion falling through). Sounds like a great night and looks yum.
I also am the observer at the bbq. My son-in-law is the family grillmaster and he just left after visiting for 4 weeks. I will have to settle for Bob's grilling from now on, or perhaps learn to do it myself. But then, who would drink the wine?
Yum!! We have one right outside our kitchen door, but with the temps in the mid 90's for three weeks I've not used it much. I will use it a lot in the fall.
I don't even have an outdoors :-( but I am not a great bbq person, I do like eating alfresco - salads and veggies! The garden looks beautiful and that is some bbq machine!
