This is a rather fascinating game on the pier. You pays yer money & get a number of balls & are assigned a horse which you work by throwing the balls & hoping they land in a high number hole which in turn moves your horse on to the winning post !! Riveting stuff !!! The horses have names & are different colours & move along in a sort of jerky manner !! Some people sit there for ages & I suppose it's strangely mesmerising! If you win you are lucky enough to take something home that you wouldn't normally give house room to !! That is the attraction of Blackpool, a town where you can behave in any way you want & nobody gives a toss !!
Marvellous - I'm still giggling at your description of the prizes!! We used to have a great time with my mum's cousin in Blackpool - she let us go on all the games and 'waste our money'. My mum & dad - used to take us there shopping - what was the point in that?!
Love the picture and the story! We lived in England for three years. My husband was stationed at RAF Lakenheath. Just LOVE your country!! Never saw this "game" in action tho. Pretty amusing!
Pat, they have this game on the 'travelling fairs' (particularly the 'goose fair') that come to Nottingham. I usually have a go and struggle to get past the 4 furlong post !!!!

@judithg It is a good place to waste your money that's for sure & pretty sure you would sooner go shopping now than waste your money on stuff like this !!!!
@phil_howcroft I must admit I did have a go years ago & it was quite good fun ! It is a great thing to walk round Blackpool on a summer evening ..the whole of life passes by !!
