On this 10th anniversary of 9/11 we think of all those who have lost loved ones on that terrible day ten years ago. I think everyone remembers where they where when they heard the news & saw those unbelievable pictures on the television screens.
At this time you realise how important family is & these are some of the photos I have on my dining room wall . They are all Harry & my family pictures..some very old & some more recent all in sepia or black & white.
I had the same display in the hall at the last farm & one of the first things William ( then aged 7) & I did was lay all these photos on the floor & decide where we would place them on the wall.
They are a great talking point when people come to stay !!
Yes I remember I was doing the ironing when the phone rang and it was my son telling me to switch on the Tv .As you say it was absolutely unbelievable. I like your family photo display Pat
Beautiful photo of your families, Pat. Love that arrangement and it must be a real conversation piece. Life is all about loved ones . . family and friends.
I love your wall!! I've acquired a few copies of photos from doing family tree stuff but they're in a box & not that good quality - this is a fab display.
@snowy@karenann Thank you both! @sarah19@judithg Yes you would remember them Sallie, on the wall in the hall. We have added new ones & had some wedding photos done specially in sepia. William who of course is now 18 loved doing that job with me & it is a nice memory ! It is amazing Judith what a good photographer can do now to enhance an old photo. The picture just below the small round one is my mother aged three & that was brought to life from an old faded photo ! @stepheesue@louisefrance Indeed a day to remember & I think those waterfalls where the old towers used to be are inspirational! not to build on them was completely the right thing to do !
What a lovely display, great to have your family around you in this way. Are they in any order (family tree) or just the way the frames fit so nicely together?
What a great wall to have - yes family is so important & it's nice to have a sense of belonging & your link to the past when you can look at thsi wall & see their photos. Great capture!
Well said and illustrated, Pat. You are so right about the really important things in life becoming so clear in times of tragedy. The challenge is remembering on ordinary days. Your photo wall is an excellent reminder.
