Our little lane. by happypat

Our little lane.

Our lane is a cul-de-sac & is quite quiet although only 5 miles from a motorway. The other end leads into fields & there are 10 houses down here. You can just see on the right the end of our new drive we made when we sold the land & buildings off last year. We have three street lights but nobody ever seems to mend the road when we get an odd pothole, all have septic tanks but some of us do have gas ! The bin men & all deliveries have to turn round in the wider part near the white house then they have to back down the road as it's only wide enough for one car. You can see that Chris who lives in the house on the left has put these plants to stop people continually turning round in his gateway ! Neville's thatched house is for sale still ( pictured before June) & so we get lots of people coming down the lane to look but they can't turn round ...we are glad we don't live at the bottom !!!!
looks like a great place to live especially with kids around..

looks a tranquil and beautiful place Pat......although I sympathise with chris.....i cannot see why he is making it even more difficult to turn around ...you cannot get that much traffic down your lane...am i being a bit harsh Pat ?

@phil_howcroft Well he has only been in that house since Christmas & we were rather surprised when he put them there but we do have a tractor & trailer moving cattle so perhaps they have used this gateway !

What a lovely tranquil rural scene Pat! I'm with @phil_howcroft though -it wouldn't bother me that people were turning round (it doesn't look like it gets streams of traffic (!) ) and it isn't like his house is really near to the gate. He's not moved in from Yorkshire has he ;0) ?

@judithg Hehe no Judith .. are you thinking it might be the Wars of the Roses ! Actually his house is the brick barn conversion just beyond his drive & you drive round the back. They are a really nice family actually !

I'm just being naughty! Obviously it's a very sensible Lancashire thing to do - I just hope he doesn't accidentally drive in to them in the dark!
