I did my Granny bit today & took Lydia to her friends house near Kirby Lonsdale. Of course I had to have a look round for photo opportunities while I was there as it's such a lovely little town....I took quite a few & it was a hard decision which to pick but in the end picked this cheese shop as it is a perfect example of the gorgeous little shops in this small Lune Valley town.
Of course I couldn't resist going in a shop & buying a velvet dress for Christmas... I can hear my daughter & daughters in law now saying '''Oh mum!!!''
Never mind I have been really busy with B&B this last couple of months so my treat !!!
I am going to put the inside photo in my extra album.
You're ace now?! When did that happen!
This shop is so cute! From the awesome name, the amazing brickwork, spikey ledge and the rich colours. I don't think I'd ever find anything like this around here! So much to look at Pat, great shot!
@shutterbugger I never noticed Jenn that I had done that many but will definatly carry on . it has opened my eyes to the world !!! I have been ace about two months now, i read something from someone who had said that they went ace to give something back financially to Ross so I decided for the peanuts it cost a year that I would do the same. I don't often put two photos up as I don't want to spread myself too much but just now again it's handy !!
I love the little stories behind your photos Pat. This is a great shop - I can see why it took your eye. You must post a photo of you in your new dress as well. Glad that you had a great day. I look forward to seeing the inside of the shop too.
Oooooohhhh - I LOVE Kirby Lonsdale!! We used to go regularly to a caravan site there and had complete freedom to wander the town and countryside. Snailraces, barley sugar, paddling in the river and taking photos with a B & W Polaroid camera!! We still have those photos of our friends leaning off the side of a steep hill so that they were perpendicular to the ground. I must have been about 7 when we took those - paradise!
what a delightful shot - I'm with Judith - I love Kirby too! Normally I only get to drive through and not enough time to stop...must leave more time next time! Love cheese - this looks like a great cheese shop and love that you've got the church peeking into the shot too
@murnane funnily enough my daughter went to pick Lydia up & had to kill time for a bit , went into the same shop as me & picked out the identical dress but couldn't afford it , then she got home & read my tale about buying this velvet dress, amazing !!! Think she will want to borrow it if it fits !!!
nice one Pat, I love how the street on the Right hand side of the frame keeps interest throughout the whole of the frame.
Now about the velvet dress...will you and it be making an appearance in it on 365......I've done a quick count on your days and percentage complete and worked out you will still be in here when christmas arrives !!!
I look forward to seeing you and the dress on or around 25 December 2011 :)
@phil_howcroft Ha Ha there's a thought Phil yes I could be persuaded to model my dress for Christmas , that is if the daughter hasn't already got it in her wardrobe !!! See above !!!
