This stall selling hot food was in Preston Town Square yesterday & boy did it smell good !! If I hadn't just had my lunch I would have been tempted !! As you can see it was doing a roaring trade & I liked the smoke coming out of the chimney ! I had just been in my school days lending library so was in a contemplative mood & was remembering the dire threats from my Convent school about daring to let food pass your lips in the street !!! I would have felt guilty walking along Fishergate with a hot dog in my mouth...old habits die hard !!!!
I like the colours in this shot as all as the busy street seen. There is a thread at the moment about bicycles adding to a shot and I agree, it adds to this shot too.
Hahahaa!! That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. And when I pass all the language students sitting around Cambridge stuffing food I think they were right although I do realise they don't have a lot of choice. Still - I only do it when desperate myself - what did they do to us?!
I'm sure the nuns would've forgiven you just this one time. I like hot dogs, but I can't help comparing them to the ones I used to have in Frankfurt. They were something else.
Looks so happy and festive . . one gets that lovely feeling of the street vendors and the smell of food!! Great catch . . as nice as that cute little shop nearby. :)
Why couldn't you eat in the street? sounds pretty harsh, but things have changed so much. What a fabulous little food stall. It looks a bit chilly - lots of warm coats and jumpers. Mind you, it's almost summer here and we have a fire bubbling along again tonight.
@murnane It was just the times Marg, nobody eat in the street then . Times have changed so much here & I think us Brits were always rather proper years ago, wearing hats & gloves etc ! I think the Australian way of life has probably been much more relaxed always. Yes a bit chilly but we are coming into winter now & this time last year we were just beginning to get the first snow. Actually the weather here has been fantastic & we have lots of flowers & shrubs flowering out of season.
