Last night Harry & I went to a production of a travelling nativity play round the village of Inglewhite where we used to live. It was acted out in various scenes round the village itself, on the village green, in peoples gardens, the local joiners yard & ending up in the outbuilding used for the annual BBQ.
There were real sheep & Blackpool donkey & this stable scene is using Harvey a real baby. Our son in law is the second shepherd from the left & daughter on the left front in white.
The weather was fine & dry & there was mulled wine & mince pies afterwards.
Fantastic!! What a great idea - it's like The Vicar of Dibley. I've often thought that rural communities do Christmas best - you need a proper stable and it brings out a real sense of community (possibly I've listened to The Archers too much but I think you've proved I'm right!!)
So beautiful and what a reminder what Christmas is all about. We tend to forget amidst all the hustle and bustle just what we really are celebrating. This is an awesome scene, Pat.
Pat, you had a good seat near the front...if I don't get online again b4 christmas have a wonderful time over the holiday, hope you manage to skype your family in NZ
@phil_howcroft Thanks so much Phil & the same to you & your family !! We will definatly talk to them but not sure about skyping on the day as will be others for them to ring too !
Oh what a fabulous tradition Pat. It actually reminds me of the vicar of Dibley episode, when Alice gives birth in the manger. I hope yours wasn't quite as eventful.
