A brisk walk along the river bank with the dog blew all the Christmas cobwebs away. I love these low photos with the sun behind the trees & hope I am not putting too many of them up...seem to have a bit of a thing where out of all the pictures I took I always come back to these !!
Harry & I took all the decorations down this morning so back to normal inside & a new year to look forward to .
it was a superb day today wasn't it Pat? The first 2 days of this year have panned out exactly the same as last year - horrendous NY day and perfect and sunny on the 2nd! Lovely shot this - similar to the one I'll be posting I suspect! - love the low light
Oh, Pat this is so beautiful. I have a thing for the low sun shots as well. Unfortunately we have not had too much sun here lately. Thanks for the welcome back, by the way.
The low light is gorgeous and you've got a lovely reflection. Cold wind here today though. Put off taking the decs down till tomorrow although Nigel was all ready to set about it this morning!
Beautiful and tranquil - not quite the weather we've had today! Our sun doesn't rise far enough above the horizon for me to get a photo of it setting!!
Lovely shot and blue sky does the heart good. Just back from New Year trip so I think I will do the decorations tomorrow. Was glad to put on the tree lights when we got in...just one more evening will do!
I love these shots, Pat. You've got beautiful lighting and silhouettes going on there and it's a great pov. Who could ask for more?!! My walks around looking for photos helps to clear up my mind too. And I'm totally focusing on nature (amongst other things) which really makes my day complete and satisfying. I'm sure that you feel the same. Our decorations are down also . . here's to a new year!
I love that glow of late day sun along the horizon. It's so lovely, peaceful and calm looking. I'm working on putting away the Christmas decorations too...all but the tree and door wreaths. I take those down on January 6th ~ the 12th day of Christmas/Epiphany.
Love the mood of this shot and the reflections.....Armenian Christmas is on Friday so it's not over yet here!! School tomo...only 3 daays thank goodness!!
@peggysirk I know Peggy I am never sure if you are supposed to take down the decorations before the 6th or on the 6th January ..I would plump for on the 6th years ago but now folk put them up so early I think we are all heartily sick of them by new year !!! Mine can now stay in the box until 2013 as we are going to the sun next Christmas !!
It seems as though we have all been taking advantage of the good weather today I shall be glad when I can say that I have been for a brisk walk. It looks such a lovely place to walk so may be I would not mind amber ling along taking in this beautiful scenery
Low sunlight photography (you know the term), produces awesome images. This is perfectly done and composed :)
