The oldest & longest of the three piers in Blackpool the North pier was built in the 1860's from a design by Eugenius Birch. It is a grade 2 listed building & was considered the ''better class '' pier with orchestral concerts & respectable comedians where as the Central & South piers were more for working class people with open air dancing...which seems to be much more fun to me !!!
The pier survives today in spite of fire, storms & being hit by boats.
I walked to the end of here yesterday but was not too keen on going over the water !!
Forgot to say too so many thanks for all the comments & faves on yesterdays picture I was so pleased & surprised !!!
@sparkle Don't worry Juliette I am so behind every day , it takes me an hour to catch up & you are so busy...we all understand !! Thanks so much for the fave !!
@fannyb Well it tells you the information on the taking of this photo Fanny, not that I know anything but if you were really into learning everything you could look on this info & perhaps learn stuff to do all this manually !!!
@jtookey150 No I am frightened of water & it was very off putting all that swirling water underneath & only old wooden boards between me & the drink !!
Excellent shot and it works so well in this tone. I am with you, I am not comfortable walking on water. Sorry I am so late in my comments, I could not get on the site yesterday.
Love love love your processing. Am squinting to see if there is anyone in Victorian garb!!! I noticed the top of the light is gone - wonder if it blew off?!?!
Pat, you really have excelled yourself in your last two images. I love how nobody is in the frame, I love the tones and the lead in lines of the pier boards.
You've come a long way in your photographic journey Pat. You should be proud that you have produced two great images in two posts.
I'm tempted to post a picture from my archive of this very same pier !
@phil_howcroft Yes do Phil I would like to see your version !!! If you look closely you can see coming towards yo a very modern quad bike, I was hoping no one would see it & I think I was right ! Thank you so much for your great encouragement always Phil !
