One of the twelve houses down our lane, Chippy Cottage is the last one before you go through the gate into the fields.
A very keen gardener lives here. These sweet peas clamber over his garden trellis.
Three good things......
1.We have a lovely new neighbour who has bought the thatched house down our lane, her name is Dorothy.
2.Harry & I worked hard this morning changing beds for the new B&b's, we are a good team.
3.I learnt a little more about my camera & didn't regret buying it as I nearly did when I saw a lovely small American rocker for sale in our local antique shop. Would have been just the thing next t the Aga!!
@fannyb Yes AV all the time Fanny it's easier than my P&S so am thrilled, lots to learn though! Feel quite self conscious with the camera round my neck though! It feels so conspicuous!
Ooooh it's the same as mine Pat!! Better than a rocking chair (though that sounds lovely) because it will get you out and abou. And it's done you a lovely 'out of focus' shot. It does take a bit of getting used to - I had to get @sparkle to teach me about the Q button - it helps a lot if you read the manual! Have you got a filter on to protect the lens - I use one because I'm always banging it around. I may get a hand strap for mine so it's not always round my neck. You can do loads with it once you've got the hang of the ins and outs - wait till you try low light - it's amazing. I need to sign up for the next level photography course and learn a lot more.
@judithg No I haven't got a filter but will look on Amazon as that sounds like me banging cameras about a bit! Have read about he Q button last night but already forgotten what it's for! On the whole though I am finding things easier than I thought & funnily enough shutter & aperture have suddenly made more sense! I bought the camera at Wilkinsons who have a free 2 hour tutorial in Leyland so will book myself on that soon. So glad the manual is a proper book , my last one was all on disc, a nightmare! I can always pick your brain if I get stuck LOL !
Yes - definitely get a UV filter so you don't have to worry about the lens quite so much. A tutorial is a great idea - Currys didn't run to one of those.
This is gorgeous, Pat! Wonderful dof in this shot! I think you are going to love that fabulous new camera...you should have no buyer's remorse over that purchase! Rocking chairs just can't compare. :) I agree with Judith about the lens filter ~ very inexpensive and good protection against scratches. Have fun with your new Canon!
