Giddy Up ! by happypat

Giddy Up !

Harry & I have been out & about today. First to vote in the new Police Commissioner thing..a decision made at the last minute but the guy actually came round yesterday so was the least we could do.
Then to our daughters with two lasagnes I had made for Jack while we are away.
On to the physio & then out for some vegetable soup at The Barn at Scorton.

Just as we were coming out of there I heard this clip clop...couldn't have timed it better!!!

Just as an afterthought the cottage has a roof made of corrugated tin & this would originally have been a thatched roof made of straw.

Three good things:
1. A glorious, glorious day weather wise, warm, blue sky & no wind!
2. When we got home our nephew had left us a tote bag of wood which will keep us going all winter.
3.£100 coal allowance !!
This capture is fantastic. Love it. I also love reading your descriptions and three good things, always uplifting. Have a great day.

Look at that - timeless!! Sounds like you're going to be dashing round ahead of NZ. Lucky Jack! Coal allowance - how far does £100 go?
November 15th, 2012
@judithg Not too far & something I thought the government would drop unless you were on benefits but the only thing Harry & I have ever got from this government all our working lives so we put it in the bank quick!!!!

@happypat Quite right before they tax you on it! I'm throwing a paddy because I get the Child Benefit and all the letters about Child Benefit have always been sent to us but the tax man has sent the letter about the changes in April to Nigel - who didn't even bother opening it because I do all the tax stuff. So sexist to assume that the man is suddenly in charge.

Perfect composition and great edit

@judithg In this day & age too! The telephone people wouldn't talk to me the other week & I do all the bills! What is so private about telephone info? When I was getting child benefit a long time a go it was the womans sole means of income & my name was actually on the book although we didn't get allowance for the first born. Harry had no claim on that money whatsoever. It wouldn't be taxed so much in those days as was not part of the mans income.

@happypat And it's a long time since a woman had to divulge her income so her husband could do her tax return! Nigel hasn't got a clue about any of the home finance stuff but I'm always having to walk down the garden with the phone. And as he says - it's just a male voice- no proof it's him - if we were a civil partnership we could just lie!

@judithg Just realised I said the letters were sent to us - they were sent to me - he has no idea about any of it! Mind you I haven't read the info yet - I may not understand it either!

@judithg He he what would they do with out us!!!!

Great timing - and what a busy day!
November 15th, 2012
Wow, what a beauty, such a strong build to that horse.
November 15th, 2012
This would have been fabulous if that roof was thatched! However, I have learnt it is very expensive. Great to see these mighty horses. I'm going to get a photo of one tomorrow at the Victorian Parade - pulls a big wagon!

Great in sepia! Nicely captured. Love the light behind them. I can almost hear the "clip clop" here in Shanghai!

@ruthmouch Oh yes I'm ready. And I'm starting with free Friday chocolate :0). And free Monday chocolate because Monday's are harder....
November 16th, 2012
great edit to this - really cool shot - I was busily travelling back from Northumberland so didn't vote - but appears neither did most of the country - I think it was very poorly promoted - not sure I would've voted even if I had been home!
November 16th, 2012
@judithg @ruthmouch @happypat - LOL - you guys running the country would be great - Cooked breakfasts compulsary every morning by Pat and free chocolate Friday by Judith - we'd all be the size of houses within a year! but probably very happy :o)
