Graveyard. by happypat

Graveyard.

A walk this afternoon round Skipool Creek. Lots of old abandoned boats sitting in mud waiting in vain to be loved & sailed out into the Irish sea.
A strange sad feel to the place with the sounds of chains clanging against hulls & the odd knocking of hammers.

I never saw a soul!!

This poor old boat has no hope at all!

Three good things:
1. Pot holes being filled in on the main road by the council.
2.A new blind fitted in the bathroom.
3. Scaffolding down after the roof mended. We had a leak while we were away in NZ!
I do like the rusted tones, Pat. Lots of photo opportunities here no doubt. Retirement doesn't look altogether too bad for them. The stories those boats could tell.

The look of sadness at all those sitting idle. It's a shame some cannot be salvaged.

Let's hope someone does take care of it but it does make a good picture. I love the rust and those lovely brightly coloured small boats.

What a great shot, Pat! Love the pop of color against that poor old boat. I'm seeing lots of photo ops there.

Marvelous capture of the old bedraggled boat and the bright new sailboat with its teal cover snuggling in beside

So pretty against that blue sky.

Oh yes, I would love to take a shot like this - very moving

This is very nice Pat, lots to look at, least of all that fabulous sky.

Oh that sounds quite spooky but worth it for this shot. Lots of character and blue sky to boot. Good news about holes being mended all round. Some of our roads are like something you'd expect in a third world country - you have to drive round the holes to avoid damage - and that's the city centre.

Looks a bit like Dungeness on the Kent coast - lovely bit of old boat dereliction.

How forlorn!!! Nice that you left in the bright colors and the blue sky!

This is so lonely and yet so lovely

Beautiful photo. Faved it.

Its a huge boat! Nobody wants to take it on? Still looks a bit wintry somehow but I still love to hear how snug you will enjoy!

Fabulous shot, Pat! Love the aged character ~ the rust and the sag. I can kind of relate. :) Well done with this find!
