String of Pearls.............. by happypat

String of Pearls..............

My favourite pearl necklace. Harry bought me this on our Ruby Wedding & I love it. I always wear a pearl necklace & it's the first thing I put on after I am dressed in the morning....would feel very odd without one of my three....a cheapy for every day, a larger pearl one with a button fastening I wear lots & then this one , my best for special occasions.

Thank you for your comments these last few evenings...I know I have been lax in the commenting department, will do better this evening.

Three good things:
1. Lyndsey Hoyle, a Lancastrian, MP for Chorley & with a great sense of humour , the undoubted star of yesterday's budget!
2. New wiper blades for my car...no more irritating noise.
3. A night in!!
Oh how nice to know you always wear pearls. Made me think of Barbara Bush. Tiger capture and the composition are great. Enjoy them.

A night in? Have you gone mad?! Love your pearls and wool - textures and tones. I was inspired by you last weekend to try a necklace/bedstead shot but they came out all grainy - and then I realised I'd had the camera all set up wrong anyway (and had to resort to Adam!).

@judithg I am regularly inspired by you Judith & nothing ever comes out like it should LOL ! Sitting by a roaring wood burner....why do we ever go out when the nights are dark & more snow tomorrow forecast....brrrrrrr

Surely you don't wear your pearls out gardening? With pearls on, I can see you are ready to open the door to anyone and look well dressed!

@maggiemae Oh yes I do my gardening..what bit I do, in my pearls! I used to help milk the cows in them too!

@fannyb No fear not much old age by the fire in this house Fanny...you have to keep moving & grooving!!!!

This is just a beautiful photo, Pat. I love the focus on the pearls and the detail you have captured in the knit. The tones are perfect as well. I'd say this is a fav! (I'm trying to get caught up also.)

Nice contrast of textures. Trying to work out if it is your reflection in the pearls.

@barrowlane Oh well spotted Rob , i hadn't even noticed but you are right it is me with my 58mm lens stuck up close!

Beautiful - I love pearls too. My favourites Allan bought me when on a work trip abroad a very long time ago and they are looking rather sad ......but I still love them and wear them. Any tips on revitalising them welcome!!!

@happypat It wouldn't be as bad if there was something in the long term focus to give us a bit of hope! There are scout/DofE groups at Adam's school who often go on canoe/sail/cycle/hike/triathlon type things and they camp under tarps - and every time they've been this winter it's snowed. They are hardy but it would be more fun without. Adam doesn't do any but will be playing hockey in the snow again instead...

What a gorgeous composition and I love the almost monotone look. Pearls are lovely at any time

This is a great shot, Pat! My daughter just walked by the screen and stopped dead and commented on how lovely the textures are. I agree!

The pearls add a beautiful touch of class to the wardrobe
March 22nd, 2013
Very nice! I like you have three distinct necklaces for distinct purposes.
March 22nd, 2013
I don't know much about pearl necklaces. How are they graded, is it mainly by size, lustre? What's the difference between your everyday pearls and your best? I'm just curious. Three pearl necklaces, are you thinking of a fourth too at some point, Pat?
March 22nd, 2013
@happypat oh that made me laugh Pat!! XX

super macro
