My favourite pearl necklace. Harry bought me this on our Ruby Wedding & I love it. I always wear a pearl necklace & it's the first thing I put on after I am dressed in the morning....would feel very odd without one of my three....a cheapy for every day, a larger pearl one with a button fastening I wear lots & then this one , my best for special occasions.
Thank you for your comments these last few evenings...I know I have been lax in the commenting department, will do better this evening.
Three good things:
1. Lyndsey Hoyle, a Lancastrian, MP for Chorley & with a great sense of humour , the undoubted star of yesterday's budget!
2. New wiper blades for my car...no more irritating noise.
3. A night in!!
A night in? Have you gone mad?! Love your pearls and wool - textures and tones. I was inspired by you last weekend to try a necklace/bedstead shot but they came out all grainy - and then I realised I'd had the camera all set up wrong anyway (and had to resort to Adam!).
@judithg I am regularly inspired by you Judith & nothing ever comes out like it should LOL ! Sitting by a roaring wood burner....why do we ever go out when the nights are dark & more snow tomorrow forecast....brrrrrrr
Oh divine a night in.....what happened to old age by the fire eh?!! Oh yes so with you on the pearls front, got my sort of everyday ones on now after an afternoon out supposedly teaching bridge ha ha...........love the contrast in your shot
This is just a beautiful photo, Pat. I love the focus on the pearls and the detail you have captured in the knit. The tones are perfect as well. I'd say this is a fav! (I'm trying to get caught up also.)
Beautiful - I love pearls too. My favourites Allan bought me when on a work trip abroad a very long time ago and they are looking rather sad ......but I still love them and wear them. Any tips on revitalising them welcome!!!
@happypat It wouldn't be as bad if there was something in the long term focus to give us a bit of hope! There are scout/DofE groups at Adam's school who often go on canoe/sail/cycle/hike/triathlon type things and they camp under tarps - and every time they've been this winter it's snowed. They are hardy but it would be more fun without. Adam doesn't do any but will be playing hockey in the snow again instead...
I don't know much about pearl necklaces. How are they graded, is it mainly by size, lustre? What's the difference between your everyday pearls and your best? I'm just curious. Three pearl necklaces, are you thinking of a fourth too at some point, Pat?
I like this composition of the pearls against the jumper
