No wonder I have had chilblains this year putting my feet up on the hot Aga this winter.
I settled myself into my chair in the kitchen this afternoon while Harry watched the Grand Prix & then we were both disturbed as seconds after I had taken this photo the dog was sick all over the kitchen floor!!
Of course it's his dog when it does something like that!
Still cold outside, no snow but a very nasty nippy wind.
Three good things:
1. A talk to families on the phone this morning.
2. A lovely church service this morning with all the primary school singing & proper organ music...a rare occurrence I'm afraid.
3. Happy Ruby Anniversary to my brother & sister in law spending the weekend in Edinburgh.
My mum plays the church organ, has done so for as long as I can recall. Many many years. If you ever go to Birmingham, check out Thomas Trotter at the city hall, he's the resident organist and bit a of virtuoso. I found it quite amusing that in the middle of a cosy Sunday scene with you with your feet on the Aga, the dog is sick. There's always something isn't there. He's been eating the grass in the fields again!
@sabresun Yes sorry to go into details but it was lots of grass...i was cross because she had only been in the house 5 minutes!! Organ players are very rare these days I'm afraid & who wants the commitment anyway? Thomas Trotter....I will write that down, thanks Matt.
This is pretty much what I am doing today. Thinking about going outside for a walk and some photos but just can't get there. It's chilly, breezy and gray with snow and ice covering the ground. May go for an indoor shot today. Your room here looks so cozy - love the angle of your photo.
@happypat My mother goes to see him on quite a regular basis to hear the organ recitals. He's not as old as his name suggests, and extremely talented. I don't think there can be many with his talent left in the country.
Wonderful shot of happy feet rudely disturbed by sick!!!!!!!!! Very colour coordinated!! I wasn't going anywhere today either!! there used to be an organist who played on the radio Sunday evenings...can't remember his name!! senior moment!!
A very wise position to be in today I think. If it wasnt for the dog I wouldn't have ventured outside. Mind you there were people skiiing in the fields which can't be that common in the middle of Leeds!
The hours I spent as a teen sat on a cushion on our aga with a good book,,,,,,aaaahhhh great memories, and some interesting pit stops in the grand prix by alla accounts!!!! @fueast not that common!!!!!!
Our cat purposely comes inside and on to the carpet to be sick! Brasses me off! Scrub scrub! Love how you post an ordinary shot and make it into an interesting visit!
:) that is the reason I don't have a dog, because it would be my dog all the time except for the fun play moments. I want to put my legs up and relax but doing weekend chores instead. Very tempting POV :)
What a lovely cosy shot. I wish I'd had a day like that. No snow here either but as you say the wind is bitingly cold! I love that you have your feet up with a mag, oh - and I want that mug!!!!!! LOL!
What a relaxing & cosey way to spend a Sunday afternoon --sorry about the chilblains, they can give so much discomfort .I have happy memories of fitting with my feet on the AGA as a teenager in my parental home , with my head stuck in a book !!
My idea of a perfect day - except for the sick dog part...but that's fairly routine around here. I spent my afternoon reading on the couch in the living room in the sunshine with Kylie's head in my lap - until I fell asleep!
Glad you found time to relax. I sure hope the course is better than the one you did. It was expensive enough! I did a short course at a local wildlife centre - only £10 but not very good.
@fueast not that common!!!!!!
Keep cosy and hope we all get some lovely warm days in April!
