That time of the year again....a haircut looming!!
We loaded Henry up this morning ready for clipping time. He has gone to Grahams farm to join the other sheep...he will not be a happy boy!
We are just waiting for a phone call & Harry is going to help roll the fleeces up. It might be too damp to start, if so he will have to stay the night.
I feel just as if I have left my toddler child at the nursery...will he be happy & how do you think he has settled....silly isn't it but he doesn't like mixing with other sheep & will be homesick!
Three good things:
1. All the wonderful floral tributes lining the road for the murdered soldier in Woolwich, they are so moving.
2. More amazing scenes of the rescued baby in China, just unbelievable!
3. A quiet everyday life with nothing drastic happening.
@grannysue I'm sure you do Linda...I am very tempted to go round & see where he is & how he's doing!!! Pet owners are a weak lilied bunch over our animals but Henry is a sheep for goodness sake......
Aaaw !! poor Henry 'he will feel the cold UNLESS the weather bucks-up again !! Isn't it silly how we fret over our dear pets -I have always given Alfie his trim & although I find it difficult with the Arthritis & the Polymyalgia ,I can not trust him to anyone else !!
I know how you feel. We have had to book our dog into kennels for the first time when we go on holiday next month. Although the kennel gets well recommended, I didn't like the look of the cages they were kept in when we went for a visit. I like your good things, it makes you think doesn't it?
Yes - sometimes we have to be very glad for an ordinary day. What extraordinary pictures of that baby. I'm not sure I buy the arguments about him being born into the toilet (umbilical cord?) but I'm sure the mother was desperate and will be criticised while I haven't heard mention of the man involved - same old story. Anyway - fingers crossed for Henry - I'm sure he'll be well looked after!!
@judithg They have rung so am off to see the deed done! Tomorrows photo sorted !!
I agree that was very odd about the baby ....poor girls in China we don't know what pressure they are under!!
great shot but boy he does look unhappy. I had to leave Cayenne off for anesthesia and teeth cleaning...apparently her plaque was getting so bad they were worried re infection. I feel like a worried pacing momma at the moment
Completely agree with what @judithg says about the baby. Sounds a bit suspicious, bur all's well that ends well.
I love your story about Henry Pat. Just read it out to Graham and we both had a chuckle. Fingers crossed all has gone well for H. Can't wait to see the pics tomorrow
@jantan i have just got back Jan & poor Henry has been through the mill, very stressed & at one point we thought he was a gonner but just tired I think! Anyway he is shorn of wool & back in his paddock tomorrow.
@busylady Ooh kennels , there's a dirty word but you have to live your life, the next dog...if there is one, will be taken to kennels definitely & get used to boarding out else you can't go anywhere!! Mind you easy said now!!
@judithg Harry has just come back & Henry is OK but a bit shocked. They have given him an injection for his lame foot & left him eating his tea. Graham is keeping him there inside if it's cold tomorrow.
Oh, my heart hurts a bit for you and your boy. Henry does not look happy. But I'm sure he'll feel so wonderful with his new spring haircut that he'll forget about his ordeal in no time. All will be well, Pat...with no lasting trauma. :) This is a fav, because I love Henry...and it's a classic shot!
My youngest has been away in Normandy since monday, I am counting th ehours until 9-30 tonight when I pick him up at school, and he has told me I have a present!! Wow!! All my rather convaluted way of saying, I know how ya feel Pat, even if Henry is a sheep!
Sweet little peek-a-boo. I'm working backward so I already know Henry survived his shearing but not without some stress. Hope he is back home and settled in to familiar surroundings.
Ahhh glad he's home safe! I hadn't heard anything about the sewer pipe baby until I just read your 3GT (am rather shamefully self-absorbed at present) and went off for a snoop online. Completely amazing! Am with @judithg re being loath to judge woman involved though. There's a lot of vitriol I've seen on a skim of the internet, and not much compassion.
