Harry & Lydia in Princes Square shopping arcade in Glasgow. Today is Harrys birthday so he had a really lovely day!!
We had hoped to have our breakfast on the train but I booked the wrong train..not Virgin but Trans Pennine which don't do breakfasts only drinks & snacks....I will get it right one day!!!
We went to Strathclyde University open day which was the prime reason for our visit.
Mixed feelings, loved the area & city position but the attention to detail was very lacking compared with Leicester.
The speech therapy lady didn't even show & the only accommodation we saw was awful.
Still that must not put her off...Strathclyde won UK University of the year last year so must have some hidden points!!
Another open day somewhere else will put a better perspective on things!
Sorry might not get chance to comment tonight...tired after all the travelling & have only been home an hour.
Three good things:
1. A lovely day out with our granddaughter.
2. Glasgow was just a fantastic place & so easy to get to.
3. Harrys knee held out OK & we did a lot of walking!
Great shot and that is a wonderful retail space for a good wander!
It's such a big decision choosing which uni to go to......hope it becomes clear for her soon. Appalled that the lady didn't show up! But there are some good folk at Strathclyde too and that's who I'm doing my post grad in Autism with.........mixed feelings but that's due to my health and overwork issues (and my age having not studied for SO LONG!)
Love this photo and Happy Birthday to Harry!
A lovely space to take a really nice photo of the two! Happy birthday Harry, I feel as if I almost know you! So Lydia is going to University! I'm sure Glasgow will be a great place to live!
Happy Birthday Harry. Super granddad and granddaughter picture Pat.
I'm sure Lydia will make the correct choice of Uni' , although at the end of the day the important thing is to come out with a degree and hopefully a job ..... I'm sure she is surrounded by sensible heads on grandparents and parents to help her make that decision :)
Oh, it is a tough decision but it is so good that she has your unconditional love and support when she makes it. I am sure that the right decision will be made.
This is an awesome picture with lots of bright, clean lines in the background. Looks like a fun mall.
What a great pic! Aren't you and Harry wonderful to do this with Lydia. A big decision for her. I have learned to go with my heart...but I have a few years on her!!! Hope you had a marvelous birthday, Harry!!
@bpaquette We enjoyed every minute Barbara, something we wouldn't have thought of doing on our own!! We would definitely go to Glasgow for a day out on the train again!
looks and sounds like a happy day - ah the joys of looking for universities...she'll have a great time wherever she goes - and she'll know the one to go for when she sees it!
