A fantastic night last night watching a wonderful Last Night at the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall conducted for the first time in 118 years by the first woman. ( we were at home though so this is off the TV using manual setting!!)
Marin Alsop from the USA was both charming, funny & talented, a remarkable woman.
'' I want to say to all the young women out there, as I say to all young people: believe in yourselves, follow your passion & never give up, because you will create a future filled with possibilities.''
Three good things:
1. Music.
2. Porridge...I made some for the B&b's & had forgotten how good it is!
3. Liquid washing stuff..so much nicer than powder but I seem to use it faster so more expensive!
Ray watched this and I never thought of doing a shot - well done! I agree with 1 and 3 but the delights of porridge just pass me by! Ray loves it and could not believe it was not on the breakfast menu in a Glasgow guesthouse. He even turned the menu round to see if it was featured on the back!
@happypat It's come out very well! I'm buying liquid in 'pods' now so I don't use to much but I have to buy white powder with bleach stuff in it to prevent the washer going mouldy - actually apart from that I buy whatever's on offer!
Oh, I listened to this last night while commenting and really enjoyed it too. There's something very stirring about all those rousing old tunes. Nice idea to capture a telly shot.
Good idea for a shot to capture this, we don't have this on tele here as well, but normally with a few weeks delay so I have to have a look out for it. I agree with Hazel music and liquid washing stuff is great , porridge isn't my thing at all

@grannysue The Proms here Linda are a series of concerts over the summer held in the Royal Albert Hall, not sure if the same orchestra but different conductors...the last night is always very special & lots of young people in the audience waving flags & streamers & generally having a ball! They play all the stirring music belonging to the UK such as Land of Hope & Glory etc Thee are concerts in Belfast , Wales & in Hyde Park with big screens so everyone can join in...a wonderful evening.

You should tell Rob that the BBC is paying you to advertise for them!
