This is the working end of my kitchen a part I don't think I have shown before.
You can see the new curtains closed for once...I never usually close these curtains & as you can see they want letting out a little so they meet in the middle but I doubt I will bother! I suppose on a dark windy night they will look cosier so I might change my mind.
Our windows only look over our seating area with just a wall behind so no one can peek in!
This was taken late last night hence the light.
Three good things:
1. I have caught up with the immense pile of ironing I neglected while sewing....I haven't even been able to make the B&B bed up until I had ironed some decent sheets.
2. A day out with Cathy & Lydia tomorrow. We are going to Birmingham Uni Open Day on the train...very early in the morning!
3. I have managed to track down an elastic snake belt for Max to keep his jeans up over his skinny bottom.
Definitely my kind of kitchen - looks so welcoming!! I usually draw our curtains - I don't like the dark square of the window - spoils my cosiness in winter!
Pat , a lovely kitchen !! it oozes with homeliness ,love the new curtains , they will be super for the winter , and the large table is so farmhouse style and suitable for all kind of household activities and of course cosy family meals
This would be my favorite room. I love a big table and lots of room and the warm wood. And the curtains!!! Add a dog or two and a cat and I would be quite content.
I love the glimpses of 365ers lives we get here - love the curtains but it would annoy the gap would bug me - I always close curtains as I don't like sitting with dark glass even if not overlooked
So nice to see your renovated kitchen!
As for the curtains - I don't have anything but a window topper that does nothing!
I am thinking about making a set of lace curtains for each of my windows.
@tishpics@annemary *I agree about the dark gap & hate curtains open at night but for some reason I never close these over the sink, the other ones in the kitchen yes but not these ones.....i do quite like the look of them closed so will probably let out a bit of the gather to close the gap.
I do think you should climb up there and struggle with the gathering! It looks cosy now but this would make it THE room to just love! No outside dark looks! I do admire you for your posts, Pat - I have to read right through the messages - it's like a conversation!
