A very over processed picture of the house that has been done up at the end of the lane.
The first time I have seen it lit up...I am envious of all that glass!!!
This is the view from our field & you can see some old sinks there we have waiting to be made into flower troughs.
These windows face south so the whole house will be filled with light.
Three good things:
1. A lovely lunch & afternoon at Cathys...our last day with Lesley before she flies home.
2. The gorgeous new design at Emma Bridgewater called Zinnia....just a lovely pattern.
3. My hair is just recovering from a fairly drastic cut...I am beginning to like it better!!
@busylady@jtookey150@lucypics I think you might all be right . it's just when I see these houses on Grand Designs I quite fancy an ultra modern house but there again I do like small windows , dark & lights on...it might be terribly echoey too!
I fancy one of these eco houses myself but the wife doesn't agree. There was one being built not far from us right next to an old traditional stone cottage. I couldn't believe that they managed to get planning for it so close as it is not exactly in keeping with other houses around. Anyway next time I passed by the old cottage was gone! they had demolished it I was even more dumfounded. Rumour has it, it is owned by one of the spring watch presenters, the one with the hair, but that may be chinese whispers as I haven't seen him.
Well lets hope they have at least double glaze. Always fancied a glass fronted house in the woods myself. With a waterfall as well - like that Frank Lloyd Wright house. When I win the lottery.
I expect all new houses in Britain would be much better insulated than old houses plus double glazing so warmth would be great! However this modern idea of wooden flooring produces echoes all over as well as voices! Would be lovely countryside to look at through those big windows!
Looks very welcoming - I'm itching for anther extension but a bit tricky until our joined neighbour builds a bit on - and he's 85 so that's not likely!
@happypat@fueast@judithg Have you read the book "Loving Frank" about Frank Lloyd Wright and his mistress...sheds a whole new light on his lifestyle and architecture.
I've always fancied a glass fronted building like this, but it would have to have rooms lined with bookcases to keep it feeling lived in - the ones on Grand Designs often look like someone's moved into a warehouse (I'm not tidy enough to do minimalism anyway!). @bpaquette - will check out that book - love Frank Lloyd Wright
