Too busy today to take much of a photo so in the end resorted to the lid of the Aga.
Sounds silly but one of my favourite Christmas presents this year was this small piece of fringed wool carpet that our neighbour with the lovely house gave me.
I had admired hers so she bought me one ...so kind. It comes from the Isle of Man & can be used as a Aga lid cover or put on the dining table as a mat for hot dishes.
Three good things:
1. Fried up hotpot.
2. I just happened to catch the edge of a car bumper as I turned into park in Great Eccleston......I got out full of trepidation but no mark on either car so I have not told anyone....except you of course & I know you won't say anything!!
3. Yesterdays photo on PP thanks to all you lovely people...it is always exciting!!
Nice corner of the mat to photograph with a little bit of other things in too! Must be very strong - won't get scorched? Trepidation is the right word!
I love this warm and cozy shot. And I can see why you loved that gorgeous piece of carpet...it looks like tapestry and the colors are beautiful.
Your secret is safe with me, Pat. :)
That's lovely - didn't know you needed a cover for Aga lids but it's a lovely one. Maybe you should get one for your bumper! We are finally planning a whole new rug in the living room - the other has done very well for 20 years and will be very nice for my office room but I fancy something a bit smarter in the lounge.
What a great idea. I have just bought ANOTHER set from the Aga shop. Together with a set of oven gloves they came to just under fifty quid! And they don't last very long. I keep meaning to get the sewing machine out.
@judithg@jantan I have some black round Aga covers, also some union jack ones but these bits of rug are wonderful...I have no idea how much they cost but thick & attractive looking on table or cooker. I have asked her to get me another when she goes back to visit IOM.
I have the black ones too Pat, my favourites were my ones with a posh looking cat on them and 'Lady Aga' written on them, but they didn't last long. The heat seems to make the fabric very fragile
What a lovely gift, great pov and shot. PP on yesterdays shot so well deserved. Please for the foreigner among your 365 friends such as me, what in the world is an Aga
