I just wanted to show you the Christmas Poinsettia my DIL sent me for Christmas. It's just as good as the day it arrived, I think it must like the kitchen windowsill!
Marks & Spencers at it's best!
The telephone saga is not over yet.....there was an email last night announcing they were going to charge us £299 cancellation fee....over my dead body!!
Three good things:
1. A very pleasant afternoon watching The Railway Man...not too upsetting to watch although they veered mightily from the book which I didn't agree with.
2. Loving my new Kindle.
3. The B&B lady arrived safely through the snow from Canada, she was an hour early & is delightful!
O good grief. You would not put it past them to try to charge an actual deceased person for cancelling a contract! Outrageous. Still beautiful flowers and another afternoon at the cinema so can't be all bad!
This is stunning to have lasted so well it must be sitting in favourable conditions not too hot , not in a draught and the compost kept moist !!!! So nice when plants last CAROL
Never had a poinsettia but they certainly are colourful! Are you sure that phone contract didn't have a cancellation clause in the small print? Hope not - that's an awful lot of money!
@maggiemae We have never had a contract maggiemae...we joined them in 2006 long before contracts came out....I am going to do battle tomorrow never fear!! Also going to cancel our DD they will have to bill us the final amount we owe!!
Cheeky beggars.... Lovely poinsettia - I've killed my Waitrose arrangement - to be fair I bought it half price because it was on its way out! Nigel's dad brought me a nice Tesco's Finest palm that's looking good though - a miracle.
That poinsettia is still looking gorgeous...your window sill must be the ideal spot! And I love the basket and burlap. Phone companies make me soooo mad. And how in the world can they charge an outrageous cancellation fee when there was no contract??
Good luck with the phone co - why does life have to be so complicated over seemingly simple things. Hope your poinsettia carries on. I still have one I bought in Nov 2012 which has grown lots of new green leaves but I didn't try to turn it red. By contrast, this year's poinsettia just died and has gone in the compost.
Beautiful shot. I had a poinsettia but I gave it to a friend because I knew it wouldn't survive long here.
Only came in at the tail end of the telephone saga, but stick to your guns. Telstra out here tried that one on with us too. We won though.
I've been all over the place and missed the telephone saga (hopefully will get a proper chance to catch up over next few days) but for now will just say sounds suitably outrageous!
WOW that is impressive. My Mum in law had a beautiful one from M&S when we were down last and it was doing brilliantly too! Maybe next year I will try one......have only had dropped leaves in the past!
Be formidable again!
