I went with Lydia to Glasgow for her visit to Strathclyde University yesterday. She has had an offer from there so they wanted to go through the 4 year course with all the ones likely to go in September.
Lots of friendly girls to meet although only 39 I think she said picked out from all the hundreds that applied.
As it's an NHS course & free you can imagine there are many applicants to all Speech Therapy courses in the places that do that subject.
We had a lovely day, Glasgow is a lovely friendly city & in my heart I would like her to choose there when she has to pick.....has to get the right grades in her A levels of course which will be hard as they are quite high.
Three good things:
1.A day with a lovely granddaughter.
2. A little bit of shopping.
3. A very new & modern train.....Virgin is the best !
Lovely to spend some quality time together. She has done well to get an offer. We are on tenterhooks at the moment because my niece is applying to get into acting school to do musical theatre. She has been offered three places so far but has her heart set on Guildford. She got through the first audition so has the final one in April - it's a stressful time!
I didn't realise that there were NHS funded degree courses. Fingers crossed that Lydia gets the grades she needs.
I went down there on a boiling hot day. I'd quite like Adam to look at the art school there as it's excellent but it's a long way away. Quite right that it's free! She's done really well to get an offer - I'm guessing there will be good job ops as well at the end.
Well done to Lydia and good luck for the exams. Ellen is busy revising for her AS exams and is just deciding where she wants to apply to and which course she wants to take.
