Waterstones book shop today. I could spend all day in this shop even though I have Kindle proper books are still my first love.

Three good things:
1. A day in town with Cathy; coffee & toasted tea cake in M&S.
2. Our electric bill was much cheaper today, we have moved from business to domestic.
3. The three horses escaped out of their field last night but went straight past our gate into poor Janet's garden. We will be shutting the gate tonight!
Love a good book shop you should visit Foyles in London

Lovely - a great way to spend time. I agree - I love my kindle, but there will always be something special about a 'real' book.

Uh oh - the same lovely horses you were photographing? It would be a loss to humanity if Kindle killed Waterstones so I do feel bad about using it! I'm on Luminaries still - proper book and I'm glad I persevered as I'm enjoying it.

@judithg interesting ...I have looked at Luminaries & thought it looked heavy going might get a sample. Have just finished my trash mystery book was rather good! Do much choice at Waterstones.

@happypat well I'd hesitate to recommend it because it's page 200 before it gets going! I'm quite excited because the latest Nicci French is out apparently. The series with the days of the week in the title (starting with Blue Monday) is really good if you like murders and Love Nina by Nina Stibbe is just a lovely read (& a bit different as it's a series of letters - very witty).

@judithg will check it out Judith...ready for a new book tonight. Saw what looked quite an interesting book called The Man who Forgot his Wife today in the shop...have downloaded a sample ....might be just for my age type people!

Good capture. I love Waterstones and have been known to buy a book because I like the size and feel of it! Crazy I know. I would be devastated if Waterstones closed down.

Great photo of Waterstones - their shops are always an oasis wherever you are. My husband comes from the Preston area - small world.

Oh I just love book shops. I fear they are in decline now though. At least we have a fantastic second hand book shop in Newcastle and there is always Abe Books and the Book Depository.

Who doesn't love a good browse in a book shop - and the smell and feel of new books.
Excellent indoor shot.

@willowdragon I've seen it Al....have you been in? I have a photo around as a filler somewhere in my stash of pics.

@happypat Yea .... been in with Mike as it's one of his favourite haunts. I was most fascinated by his blooming tea! can't say a flower in a teapot does much for me but the cherry juice was lovely :)
