Fantastic Rod Stewart concert last night at Blackpool Football ground. We were very honoured in this area as it was only one of four concerts played in the UK.
It was the 40th anniversary since he played Blackpool with The Faces 7, it was good to have him back!
Over 20,000 people were there last night and I think you must have been able to hear us singing in Fleetwood!
Lesson learnt though, pay for top seats as we were too far away for my liking!
Three good things:
1. A very happy night out with friends.
2. It was lovely to watch the England/All Blacks game at Hamilton NZ this morning knowing our sons & families were all at the match.
3. A good cup of tea!
An outside venue it looks like? Good the weather was kind! It must have been so exciting being part of the audience who knew his songs so well! Your settings worked for this dark night with bright lights!
A great photo you captured the stage action vey well considering you were a long way back. I see he likes to have plenty of women on stage with him. Fav.
@barrowlane I borrowed Harry's camera Rob.....a Sony Cybershot with X20 zoom....why do we bother with expensive zoom lenses? I got close than this but wanted to get the whole set in the frame. We were three quarters way down the stadium....too far away!
What a fantastic night you must have had. I just love Rod Stewart and We are Sailing always brings a lump to my throat. It reminds me of when the ships came back from the Falkland Islands and they played that as we watched them coming home to shore. Very emotional.
