Hanging the wreath by happypat

Hanging the wreath

Our homemade wreath made by Alex with a little help from me.

We have a Scandinavian wreath on the front door with different coloured berries on but for the back door we have used our own holly.....plenty of
berries this year!
Hung on my newly painted Pigeon door.

Three good things:
1. A day at home to catch up, waiting for the Sky TV man who has still not arrived at 4pm.
2. All the B&Bers have gone home for Christmas!
3. Jack home from university tonight.
Wonderful to have your homemade beautiful wreath. So lovely. You're definitely enjoying Alex's visit, and don't blame you for it :)

What a pretty wreath - the holly sprays are so vibrant. It must be nice to have the place to yourselves for Christmas.

I like that the photo is not just of the beautiful wreath, but of the hanging of the wreath--an image that is so easy to relate to.

wow this is beautiful... that looks like a good holly .. not too many pricks on the leaves.. so lovely to have the holly berries at the right time of the year.. Ours 'berry' in June ( our winter).. I can remember making holly berries as a kid out of crepe paper...

PS going to fave it for yours and Alex hard work..

@julzmaioro Thanks Julz......I didn't do much...the holly berries are on a non prickles variety. It has long sweeping branches & as you can see full of berries. We do have lots of berries on many shrubs & hedges this year.....sign of a hard winter to come perhaps!

@jennywren @neatz @jocasta @helly31 @cejaanderson @anazad511
Should have added your names to the above as it answers & thanks you all for your lovely comments.
I am just hoping our wreath survives the windy weather tonight!

This is very well made - not holly here though? I might do one of my own if I knew how! I am intrigued by your "pigeon' door?

@maggiemae ha ha ....pigeon is the colour maggiemae. A namee thought up by the company calle Farrow & Ball, a poncy firm that does posh paint & wallpaper.

Such a pretty wreath. We don't have holly here either.
December 18th, 2014
@777margo ah well we do have proper winters here Margo so we have to have something to keep us going in the cold........you won't be thinking about holly when you can go to the beach!

She's done a really lovely job. We have lots of holly but never any berries apart from on next door's (which overhangs!) which always get eaten by birds before Christmas. So - I bought a nice one off the market to go on the new shed - I was promised it was weather proof but when it rained hard the other nice half the greenery somehow dissolved and he berries and cherries exploded! £16 as well!! I need Alex!

@judithg she will come down tomorrow.........I think she enjoyed doing it. I have to go & pick her up from the friends later, it's like having your children young again & living at home!!
December 18th, 2014
@happypat nice though I don't like all that going out on a cold dark wet night!
December 18th, 2014
@judithg Ps. I was waiting to see your shed adorned with its wreath.....pity it all blew up!!

That's fabulous and so lovely doing things together.

Beautiful wreath Pat. Perhaps we could swap some of your plentiful holly berries for the abundance of mistletoe we have here:-) This is a great POV and what's a Pigeon door? This looks a bit low for a pigeon loft!!
