I haven't watched the film Breakfast at Tiffanys for years so have no way of knowing this is the original shop in the film.....I would like to think it is!
I never crossed over the road even to have a look inside but thought the shop itself looked very inviting & if you are into jewellery which I'm not it would be a definate shop to visit.
Three good things:
1. Easter flowers delivered today from NZ.....thank you so much!
2. Church cleaning & then a jolly lunch afterwards.
3. Found a drop side cot for Finn to sleep in when they visit....a free one too!
@mcmary. Ah that's very interesting Mary...I thought they might have resited it. It doesn't look like I imagined it to be that's all, you get this picture in your mind of how things should look& it's usually all wrong. Thank you for letting us know!
Great capture Pat. Looks so inviting with the lighting in the doorway. Rachael and I were looking in the right hand side window and when we we turned round we were surrounded by a semi circle of armed police and guard dogs!! All grinning at us as they were actually guarding the entrance for some big delivery or something.
@thistle Ooh scary Joyce....I have never seen so many police with guns as I did on that trip. Even at the airport in Manchester they were very evident....what's the world coming to?
I can't see where it says Tiffany's - perhaps its above the door. I loved that film but can't remember how the jewellery shop came into it. The buildings are so huge! Your photo is super with the lights on inside!
@maggiemae Well,it's so long since I watched the film I can gphardly remember but didn't Audrey Hepburn meet a man outside in the early hours...something like that. @julzmaioro Yes the signs are there Julz, thanks for pointing them out!
Fabulous shot of the iconic Tiffany's, complete with Tiffany blue awnings...and an NYPD security car. Love the golden light coming from the doorway and windows. Superb shot, Pat!
Lovely capture! The lighting is awesome! I'm not much into jewelry either, but might have had a peek ..just for fun. I am sure they get a lot of "lookie loos"
Awesome...great shot.
I went to the loo in there 11 years ago and paid 5 dollars tip.
Probably worth it..it was a nice loo :)
