Hard work being the only person at home.....so many jobs to do! Let the hens out & collect eggs, take the frost proof cover off the new potato plants, feed cat, put bins out, do breakfasts etc etc!
I went into Blackpool today to pick up a shower matt & have a potter about on my last day on my own before I turn nursemaid.
Had lunch in M&S before going to the hospital to visit Harry. He is doing fine & home tomorrow at 9.30am. I had to hang on until 6pm so the nurse could show me how to inject his stomach ....all the injections I have given over the years, first to patients then to calves & cows!! It was the needle that was strange.....very modern with no need to touch anything!
Probably won't have time to comment much tonight as I have tables to lay & time is getting on.
Three good things:
1. So funny in Blackpool today, I was walking along & two young guys asked the woman walking beside me if she could tell them where the Tower was....they were standing underneath it, everyone burst out laughing!
2. A couple of bargains at TK Max.
3. A take away supper from M&S....Hot & Sour King Prawn Noodles....wasn't too keen on it as there was too much lemongrass but it was easy!
A super shot -- I had forgotten how lovely it looks !! It will be good to have Harry home again -- if only to feed the cat !! lol , and I am sure that he can not wait to be home again !
Great photo and so much to do. ...not much free time. Good to hear Harry getting home soon. Don't fancy the injection stuff.....I'm such a coward with needles. ....but you take it on confidently!
How come he has to have an injection? He's had a knee operation! You have to be very brave to do this - obviously necessary! Your nursemaid's duties will also mean stopping Harry from getting on his tractor and mowing the lawns! Never seen this tower before- it looks very high and ornate!

Thank you all for your good wishes for Harry. He is ready for home but I would like him in s bit longer...quite unsteady on his legs so hope he can manage, they chuck them out of hospital so quickly these days!
Phone injections have to be done for the next eleven days & they are an anti coagulant to stop blood clots. Easy to give & I think all have to have them so there are lots of folk giving these injections for the first time!
He will not be a good pTient as he's not into reading much...all the stuff he likes doing involve moving about outside.....good job the snooker is on!!
Lovely shot of the top of the tower Pat. Glad Harry is doing so well. It will be great to have him home and away from all the hospital bugs that seem to be around these day. He sounds pretty independent to me so I'm guessing he won't be wobbly for too long:-)Good luck with being nurse/ B&B manager/cook/ gardener/ pet carer/ odd job lady/photographer !!!!!!!!!
Sounds nasty - is this his knee then? Fav for your tower shot. I know what you mean about jobs - more at this time of year with seedlings to nurture (not very well in my case) and watering to do - and it was double bin night etc etc and I had to clean as Nigel's dad was coming and stock up on food and make sure Adam's hockey kit etc was washed and ready and change a bed and I've had three governor meetings in two days. Rather wishing I hadn't laid off the cleaner....
Fabulous blue sky! :)
Pass on best wished for a speedy recovery to Harry
