Rather nice colours in this demolition site I thought!
I made the healthy option chocolate cake this morning so there should have been a beautifully decorated cake in pride of place plus recipe for you all to follow.
The description of light fluffy cake made with ground almonds, honey, pure cocao, almond milk, olive oil was a myth!
It turned out moist, quite stodgy not very sweet & quite strong tasting in other words not recommended. I have cut it in slices...well it mostly broke.. & put it in the deep freeze for a time when I am desperate for a pudding. Will be nice with custard perhaps!
Three good things:
1. A tiny little pot of Keratin treatment for my nails which is working a treat.
2. My camera battery all charged up for a day in Liverpool tomorrow.
3. Great Tapas dishes last night.....I do love variety.
A great image showing the demolition- a pity about the cake, but hopefully will be ok with custard! Makes you mad when you get all those extra ingredients and it doesn't work ...
A super shot and edit -- not your usual scene Pat but a great picture of the demolition ! Sorry about the cake !! --some times the tried and tested family favourites are best after all -- but there is nothing like trying something new , for a change !!
@newbank Sigh - at the end of the day it's the sugar and fat that makes things taste good! Hope they build something nice in the gap they make here. Maybe a chocolate sauce poured over the top will help Pat? And cream. Off to get the TV warmed up!
Nice shot of this site. Shame about the cake though as I was looking forward to more details. I don't think I will bother looking for a recipe now! Whose recipe was it by the way?
@quietpurplehaze This is an app called Snapsead. I use it all the time on my iPad it's so easy. The only thing is it takes away the date & make if camera on the details. Well it could be the iPad that dies that I suppose, anyway Snaosead is free & easy. This is the HDR mode.
@rosiekind It was in this weeks You magazine out of the Nail on Sunday paper Rosie. She is a ballerina who cooks healthy food, there were a few recipes in the magazine supplement.
@judithg kiddies had sugar doughnuts for pudding at McDonald's last week for a treat. Littlest looked at it and asked what's that on the doughnut. I said sugar. He took a bite and announced that he liked sugar. I told him that it didn't surprise me at all. Gammon got a I hate gammon just from looking at it on his plate on Sunday!
I love this image. It is gritty and well balanced and downright interesting. FAV. Sorry about the cake - we used to call those failed-cake puddings "Tibby pudding" after an elderly friend of that name who made cakes for us but usually either forgot or doubled up on one of the important ingredients. Mum would crumble them up a bit add a milk and egg custard and slowly bake them in the oven. They were often delicious.
@newbank I'm with him on both counts. I'm afraid my youngest discovered sugar quite early courtesy of big sister who also fed him his first solids - humous off a tortilla chip when he was about 6 weeks old. Had to wait quite a while for his next lot.
The comments you get and give are almost as interesting as the picture you post! Its like a conversation that anyone can join in! I am aghast at this scene of all those bricks coming down - what a lot to tidy up and deal with. Nice HDR shot of the building.
Fabulous construction site shot. Excellent color and composition. So sorry that your chocolate cake didn't quite meet expectation. I like your idea of adding a custard to tweak it. Everything is better with custard and/or whipped cream. ☺
love the processing in this shot. Makes it look so interesting. Always puts me off trying new cake recipes when I have a flop like that. Hope you can resurrect it with custard and cream
Edward made a healthy(ish) Victoria sponge yesterday from the 'Cook yourself thin' cookbook. It wasn't bad. We're all trying to eat healthily to make up for our over-eating on holiday.
p.s. What do you use for editing, Pat?
Thanks - it does a brilliant job!
Shame about the cake.
