I spent a couple of hours in the garage this afternoon having my car serviced. I must say I was ready fir a sit down with a coffee & my book.
I took a couple of photos but nothing more interesting than this one.
I really liked the gleam, lights & crispness of this picture even though the subject is nothing special.
Three good things:
1. Managed to buy a very large bottle of water today at evil Tesco!
2. Ride the lights tonight in Blackpool....can I drum up the energy to go & take photos ....I doubt it!
3. A distinct smell of mothballs & embrocation in the house this weekend.....I have some elderly guests in, one with a broken leg! It's quite a pleasant comforting smell! Not for long though!
oops --should read "another" not "nother "!! From this it looks as white is the in colour for cars at the moment -- they change colours to promote sales I am sure !!
@beryl Yes I have gone off piste here Beryl!! Ha ha & yes white is popular now but not for me! I do not like white simply because last time I had a white car & we parked near the calf place flies were attracted to the lihpght colour & it was a nightmare getting all the fly muck off! Sounds disgusting but it's a fact that flies like white!
@quietpurplehaze They have a really good deal here Hazel where you pay £110 used to be £79 & you get twelve wash & vacs which lasts me eighteen months plus today's free one as work was done. You can smell the polish from sux foot away when you collect it. A nice sit & they bring you coffee & biscuits!
They all look modern cars as one sees around everywhere nowadays! Your broken legged person has to go upstairs for the bedroom? We get coffee and slice while we wait for a service too - costs nothing as they built it in to the price of the car probably!
@maggiemae Yes I expect you are right but I don't care......a nice little rest up with my book! To cap it all they then send you a little video of your car showing the bits that are wrong with it....a little bit if wear on the tyres & a corroded exhaust ring....amazing! The one legged guy is doing well but they go tomorrow...rather glad!
Nice shot. I would have thought that white cars wouldn't be so popular in the UK, you'd lose them in snow in wintertime. Generally the majority of cars here in Oz tend to be white as they don't attract the sunlight like dark cars do.
I like this Pat reminds me of our garage where we get comfortable seats and coffee + biscuits for free while we wait. All those shiny cars makes me feel I really ought to wash mine! Garage valet it for free when it has anything done. Specialist car wash just nearby is cheaper and very good so I tend to go there.
Great gleam!! Not somewhere I go often as we have a local guy who services etc our cars and his place has all sorts of less than new models!!!
The mothballs comment did make me smile......such a distinctive smell and I always associate it with an old lady at church when I was little....the sweets she gave us tasted of it too!!!
