I have been into Garstang this afternoon but forgot to take my camera so here is one taken last week. The scene was exactly the same today even down to the weather.
Thursday is market day with stalls of all sorts all down one side of the narrow High Street.
Many thanks for all Gingers faves yesterday, she is a very happy hen........big headed too!
Meant to thank you all personally but I ran out of steam!
Three good things:
1. I have changed banks today after dithering about it for ages.
2. John the B&B & I have both gained £100 each from my switch to the Nationwide. Him for recommending which he didn't really as I had made my mind up but we qualify so who am I to turn it down?
3. I made a quick version of a scone from an Australian recipe, the easiest scones I have ever made!
Just an addition to the above post. In case anyone was wondering what the scone recipe is I will tell you.
It was a shared video on my FB page from Australia. Ax short video from a contestant in the Australian Master chef programme.
Recipe as follows.
4 cups of Self raising flour ( they measure in cups in the Southern Hemisphere so I happen to have a set of plastic measures but if you use a small tea cup should be OK.)
A carton of cream 300 fluid ounces. ( I used pouring cream)
A tinny of lemonade. ( again I had a big bottle of lemonade in the fridge so I just poured 250 fluid ounces into a jug & used that)
Using a knife slowly mix the mixture together until all incorporated into a soft dough.
Using a cutter or a glass cut into rounds & place on baking tray. This mixture made twelve scones which is a lot so I have frozen half of mine as they are best fresh.
Bake at 200 deg for 15 minutes.
Put the kettle on!
The mixture does get a bit sticky on your fingers while moving it from the bowl, just use a good bit of flour to keep your board dry.
The lightest scones ever.
@julz said better with champagne but lemonade will do!!
