January walk by happypat

January walk

A five mile walk from Scorton through the fields & along the Lancaster canal today for this months walk.
A chilly damp day but fine until the last ten minutes.
We had to eat our lunch sitting on a stone bridge, we never got warm again & were glad to get back to The Barn at Scorton for a hot drink.

Three good things:
1. Called in at Cathy's on the way past this morning, good to see her upbeat even though in pain. Another hospital appointment this afternoon.
2. A new Joules gilet by post fits perfectly.
3. My camera battery cover fell off again so I emailed
Olympus who promptly gave me an address in Luton who would provide me with a replacement. All ordered & of course I will find the original before it arrives!
Maybe the new cover will fit better! Poor Cathy - perhaps they can sort out the pain at the appointment.

It would be cold on the water but a super photo to catch while you were out walking in the wintry country conditions! I'll have to find out what a Joules Gilet is! I presume Cathy has got a cast on?

Great wave pattern

@maggiemae Yes she has Maggiemae but only a half one for now as her arm is very swollen. I would think they will redo it once the swelling has gone. She has her arm in a sling too. Chilly off the water & I have only really got warmed up & now keep falling asleep by the fire!

@quietpurplehaze We had seat pads Hazel but didn't really work today, did more standing up than sitting. Last time we had our lunch hiding behind a wall in the rain.....roll on the Spring!

Lovely spot for a walk. Maybe better in summer though when it is warmer. Hope Cathy's wrist recovers soon. Luckily because mine was bolted together I didn't have to wear a full cast and it repaired much quicker.

@onewing thanks Babs.....she has to go fir another X-ray a week on Friday so they might change her cast then & put a new one on when the swelling has gone down.

@thistle I asked the chap at the place they are sending me a new cover if it was something that happened much.....he said not to his knowledge, I didn't believe him! A weak design on the Olympus! Cost me £10 too!
