Alex & Will took us on a long drive through some fabulous countryside today.
Mount Cook was just visible through the cloud & looked quite daunting to me.
I kept thinking of that poor British couple who crashed in a site seeing helicopter a few months ago.
It was worrying to see the shrinkage of the Tasman glacier from 1990. You can just see the end of the glacier between the mountains but in 1990 the glacier came the whole way in front of these rocks.

Fabulous scenery. We took a flight in a small plane. We had missed the Franz Josef glacier from ground level as it was pouring with rain. We didn't see it from the air either as it was mist bound!
