My world at the moment, crutches to hand, books, phone & tv control on a little table beside me, I have become an old chair bound person!
Saying that Harry & I changed three beds this morning. It nearly killed me but we did it & im doing nothing much else all week!
Three good things:
1. An invitation for supper tomorrow night.
2. I saw Jack looking at me from the TV screen this afternoon. He was at the Crucible in Sheffield watching the snooker interviews.
3. Just finishing a lovely romantic novel called The Turning Point by Freya North.....just what I needed!
Ps. Oh dear I spoke too soon, I've just come to the sad bit!
Damn , damn , damn , those crutches -- so frustrating isn't it ! Glad you have the important things in your life are there to hand on the little table -- I also see that your kettle and mug are not too far away !! Keep resting that leg --it will give it a better chance to heal !!
Oh, time really seems to drag when you are not well. Especially someone like yourself who is so very active and capable.
Reminds me of a saying "Patience be damned, I want to throttle something!"
Keep a stiff upper lip, it will be over soon. Each day will get better, and remember that you are blessed, because you will walk again. I know some who won't.
BTW - love this shot and POV - great way of describing your life at the moment!
Crutches - poor poor you. Sending all my sympathy. I had crutches for 10 weeks back in 2008 - my lovely Labrador, Lotto, was terrified of them - and used to hide when she heard me coming - they fell on her once (or maybe more)
@farmreporter Thanks Wendy, it is frustrating but I am getting quite used to sitting in the chair & it is a really comfortable on. Quite happy really which is not good....getting very lazy!
@beryl I like my little world Beryl......its just very hard work if I have to try & do anything! I'm trying to do as I'm told so that it heals up well enough for me to have a boot in three weeks.
We had coffee at a roadside restaurant yesterday and the table we needed to sit at had crutches on the chair back. The next table was responsible with two old geezers sitting. John removed the crutches and put them by the wall and one guy turned around and gave us such filthy look! I spent the rest of the time trying to think of something clever to remark but failed! Of course, I thought of you. Where does one put the crutches!
@maggiemae They never stay put anywhere Maggie, slipping & falling all over the place? They don't hook over anywhere but they have to be nearby. No excuse for those rude guys though, do they expect a table specially for the crutches? That would really pray on my mind tying to think of a cutting response! Safe flying today!

The kettle helps lots, I e never drunk as much tea. The trouble is I can't even make a cup of tea myself as I can't carry anything while I'm walking.
You're doing very well managing to change beds Pat!!! Take care though and enjoy the sitting down things for the moment! It's worth it and hope the crutches aren't needed for too long! You'll miss all your walks but I'm sure your friends will call to say hello. xx
Please don't change any more beds until you are really capable of handling it. I bet you have friends galore that would be willing to help for a while in return for a night out for dinner.
Oh dear Pat, I do sympathise. Luckily we live in a single storey house and when I fractured my ankle I either wandered through the house in a wheelchair or used the walker the hospital gave me. Crutches were too much like hard work.
Poor you Pat. Crutches are a real nuisance. Still, it won't be forever. Enjoy having a chance to catch up on films and books and perhaps the odd box set. I went through the whole of Downton, except the last series, during those first few weeks after my hip op.

Thank you all, it's so lovely to have your sympathetic comments!
