This barbers in Preston was full of chaps waiting to have a trendy haircut. Wet shaves with hot towels, products slapped on manly chins, us women can't compeat!
The website says 'from traditional cuts to tight fades'....well I gave no idea what that means!
We have a branch Cartmel Barbers in Garstang too, I think I might tell Harry to go get a trendy tight fade haircut!!
I walked through Debenhams men's department on the way to the car park & the variety, colours & styles of men's clothes was as good as the women's department!
I'm not sure I'd like to live with a man who spends longer in front of the mirror than me!
I thought of cutting out the one leg of the Doc Martin but it goes with the story so I left it in!
We are a trendy lot in Preston!
Three good things:
1. There again no sweaty men these days so that's a massive good thing!
2. Picked up my Euro at Thomas Cook but was rather disappointed to find it wasn't at the price I ordered on Monday but the rate on the day I picked up! Difference of £1.50 but it's the principle! I might as well have just walked in & bought them without all the hassle of ordering online!
3. Coffee & cake with Cathy & Lydia in M&S this morning.
Well captured Pat and I agree about the Doc Martin. How things have changed. I like to see men in trendy colours it's so much more cheerful. Never thought I'd see the day when my husband wore red cords!
What a great catch, Pat! So neat to see the changes in the times.
I they call themselves a 'salon' rather than a barbershop! Go figure.
I guess they feel what's good for the goose is good for the gander!
Oops Pat I wondered what you meant for a moment with such a title !!!!! ha ha ! --Some of our men these days are more vain than us women -- and spend more time in front of the mirrors and with different potions , ointments and the like !
You are certainly trenty in your neck of the woods. We have no such thing as a multi award winning salon in these parts, for men or women. Great capture.
@happypat Oh wow fingers crossed for some success @dide and I are entering a comp at the end of the month fun to do but there are entries from all over the country .. so just wait and see..
@julzmaioro On only local ones here Julz but quite exciting & it makes the show very interesting. Lots of entries in each section, some really good & some average but it's all up to the judge! There were around thirty entries in the children section so not sure how little Finn & his dog Molly will do this time!
Nice!! Such a change from the local barber where my Mum and Dad live. Dad had been to have his hair cut today......the same man has been doing it for 62 years and is still going strong!!!!
Just mention the word, 'trendy', and John flees into the next room! The last thing he wants to be is trendy - tucks his shirt in, likes to wear trousers round his waist but can't find any that do, - at least he's got a moustache which I must not mention being 'trendy'! He went to the hairdresser on the ship which is a first and became quite favoured with this idea! Heaven knows what a tight fade is! Just googled it and its when the sides are shaven and the top is left uncut! Gracious, Harry with this??
@maggiemae no I don't think so, he goes to his favourite lady hairdresser who trims his eyebrows & cuts his hair just as he likes! She is off on maternity leave soon so will have to train another up! He tips well at Christmas though! Harry likes to tuck his shirt in too!
A very popular place. Lots of peacock males around in Preston.
Tight fades is like the American military used to wear their hair in the 1950s. They used to hate it and now it is trendy
Nice shot. Men are definitely more image conscious nowadays. My hubby can't make an appointment at his barbers and he often has to queue up for half an hour before he sits in the chair. Good luck with your photos in the show.

Nice shot, Pat.
