Driving along Blackpool promenade yesterday we were surprised how busy it was. I have never been along there before on change over day for the B&B's & hotels.
Coaches were lining the street & lots of people standing with suitcases ready to be picked up.
We presumed the coaches were dropping the new holiday makers off &I picking up the returning ones!
Thank goodness there are no coaches outside my front door!
I must say its not my place for a holiday but Blackpool did look wonderful yesterday, a glorious day & the tide gently going out on the golden mile.
The inevitable hen party!
Taken out of the car window as I was driving along!
Three good things:
1. We have been treated to a night away with bubbly, tea & full breakfast at the Laura Ashley hotel in Bo'ness at the end of October. Thanks Cathy & Garth!
2. I had my thumb checked over this morning by a B&B guest who happens to be a consultant rheumatology doctor. Regular visitors so was good to get his opinion.
3. We are having a £10 M&S meal for two tonight plus wine.
Ha! This could be a shot from Newcastle today too! Never short of hens and stags although I don't often see an inflatable doll joining them! Your treat sounds lovely!
Taken me a while to find that doll! We like those M&S meals too. It's quiche lorraine tonight from the boulangerie, strawberries, peaches & a bottle of white - no pudding!
@quietpurplehaze We had sirloin steak & onions , 4 potato Rosti cakes, carrots & swede, Bramleys apple pie & custard so very filling & easy! Plus wine! Yours was a tad lighter than ours!
Got to love girls on tour, fun photo Pat! I've bought my OH a Groupon 2 night stay in Blackpool for his birthday in October, for some reason he's always wanted to go! I'll have to accompany him, so I may be posting a similar version to this sometime before May!
I think I like your meal, Pat more than Hazel's @quietpurplehaze. Traditional and every mouthful would be divine! This looks like a group of ladies that we call 'Red Hatters" only its pink hats! The headless blow up doll will have a special place in their stories!
@maggiemae@maggiemae I think she has a black head Maggie, thought I could see a shiny black bob but I might be seeing things in the window! She has a thong thing on i presume, I daren't look! I think I might like Hazels @quietpurplehaze meal if I was on holiday in nice warm weather!
@happypat - yes it would be lovely Pat! I'll let you know when we are booked. His birthday is the end of October, so unless we do November it'll be next year.
A great shot. I guess it epitomises Blackpool. I've only been there once when I was 4 years old. I have a photo of me on the beach with my grandma. I would be interested to go again sometime but it probably isn't my cup of tea - not my sort of hens!
Sounds good. We had our main meal lunchtime at a restaurant: moules frites & pannacotta & fruit.
