My late mums ninety second birthday today so I went to the graveyard to take some flowers.
I'm not that good at visiting graves, always full of good intentions as you are but today I shaped myself.
The lovely Rowan tree!
Three good things:
1. A good brisk walk.
2. Made two lots of damson gin.
3. My comfy red boots have new soles & heels.
That looks like a lovely spot. A lovely peaceful place to sit and those berries really lift it. Life does get so busy , it's easy to let good intentions slide. But at least you made more gin! ;-)
The rowan tree is supposed to protect the property from evil according to the tales! Red berries are always pretty until they fall on to the ground and you squishy squashy them on your nice red boots! A thoughtful gesture, Pat!
@maggiemae I didn't know that about rowan trees. They are looking their best at this time & especially lovely this year, must have been just the right weather.
This is a lovely image to remember your mum by. I count myself fortunate to still have mum and she will turn 92 in November. 1924 must have been a good year!
Pat, you and I are on similar wave lengths lately. I have been intrigued by cemeteries in Hawaii and in New Zealand - such an instantly peek into years and layers of history. Leaves me pondering, wondering about lives of the past.
@jyokota I love graveyards Junko, the biggest one I ever saw was in Melbourne, just massive! There are some on hillsides in NZ that you would never think they could bury anybody there, I think they are Maori ones. The writing on them is sometimes very poignant.

Beautifully composed with the Rowan tree.
