A friend made me this tree & brought it round the other night. I had no idea he was making one & was so pleased as I have always admired the lovely trees which @kwind has along the shores behind her house in BC.
Mine hasn't as nice a place as hers to sit but I might move it somewhere different nearer Christmas.
The wood was collected at Glasson Dick, washed & bleached & then the tree built up from the bottom.
Three good things:
1. Kind friends who are clever at stuff!
2. A nearby 24 hour garage which had the bacon I realised I had forgotten at 11pm last night.
3. First day to open a window in the advent calendars!
Its very original and looks good with the lights! You remembered you had no bacon for breakfast !! I don't think I would have gone to that trouble - just told the guests, "Sorry, bacons off"! but you can have extra honey on your toast!
Wonderful Pat --I have also admired Kate's @kwind , driftwood trees and now you have a little one too -- I would love one in my garden -- but this is something you can not buy it has to be hand crafted !
@beryl v. Yes it's not everyone's cup of tea to make, surpringky time consuming as tree has to be narrower as it goes up. I was suitably thankful as I love it. @maggiemae
@maggiemae sorry I slotted you into Beryl's answer! Harry went & bought some when he went to buy his morning paper! The first time this couple had ever been so I couldnt not give them bacon!
I adore that wonderful driftwood tree!! What a fabulous gift from your talented friend. I love it! Your photo/post is full of things I love...Christmas trees, that pot of lavender, Advent calendars, and bacon. :)
