A beautiful sunny day although not quite sitting out weather.
My garden as you can see is mostly shrubs & at this time of the year daffodils & other bulbs.
The tree roots of these large beech & sycamore tres dry out the soil so much that my options of a beautiful herbaceous border is nil.
I don't mind as this garden is pretty much maintenance free all year, just a big weed now & again & the lawn kept short. Lots of moss at this time but it does disappear in the summer.
Three good things:
1. A really fun night out with friends. We didn't have good service at the restaurant, arrived first fed last but they plied us with free drinks to compensate! Not a place to return to very soon!
2. A delightful young couple in for B&B last night, such lovely comments in the visitor book!
3. I am feeling energised into tackling a bit of painting this coming week. Left over job from this time last year & delayed because of broken ankle.
I love your property, Pat. So green, natural and welcoming. Those trees are fabulous. Would much rather have those gorgeous guardian trees than a fussy border garden. And I adore moss. I tried to cultivate a moss garden in my yard in Atlanta years ago. Tried to get moss to grow along the stone pathway. No luck. Think the summer conditions were much too hot and dry for moss. :(
@peggysirk Thank you Peggy, you are very kind! This moss will die Duns as soon as the sun gets stronger. Harry is threatening to put some moss killer on it but then there would be a very patchy lawn indeed!
