I had my lunch out today with my cinema friend who has just returned from Las Vegas.
I walked there & back, thought I had been a couch potato long enough!
This is my sister in laws orchard, she has lots of hens, Ducks & sheep.
My brother in law lived all his life at this farm, milking & lambing so when he died a couple of years ago he wanted to be buried at home. You can see his grave under the trees behind the little fence enclosure.
Three good things:
1. Jo & Ant & the boys have booked their flights over here for the whole of the month of July.
2. I have just remembered that I borrowed a book from Borrow Box. I have to read it on my iPad which isn't as handy as the kindle but the book is free. By Joanna Trollope, it's called The Other Family. I am enjoying it.
3. Exercising the legs!
A lovely rural landscape ! Love the sheep and how they are safely fenced in . Love also the way your beloved brother in law wanted to remain on own land -- very touching !
Such a serene scene with all the animals laying about chewing their cud. So glad your brother-in-law was able to be buried at home. Our laws are very strict so we are not allowed to have that done. So, unless friends and family actually steal the body somehow, it can't happen.
@farmreporter had to get a special licence I believe & nowhere near water courses etc but there is no law here that says you can't be buried on your own land. I think a garden would be frowned on though plus could you sell a house with a body in the garden?🤔
@maggiemae yes it's a good facility Maggie, not too keen on reading on the iPad in bed but as I spend a lot of money on kindle books it is a great alternative. I'm really enjoying this book.
