Harry & I have been to a funeral this morning.
A friends father died so we went to support her & her family.
A very good turn out & a really lovely setting, you couldn't help but think it would be a lovely place to lay your tired body!
A country church surrounded by fields full of cattle & sheep & the only sound was the birds singing.
The electricity was off so a piano player was swiftly found!
Three good things:
1. The cycle of life.
2. The comfort of faith.
3. Support for a grieving family
4. Lovely hymns.
Such a lovely comment. Your three good things are four true things - so good to know have the church and its family is there to comfort and support us when needed.
The graveyard is beautifully tended with grass, not mown but let to grow. As you say - a quiet and appealing place to visit! Never had music in a graveyard ceremony before but sounds just lovely!
@maggiemae the music was in the church Maggie. After the service we followed the coffin on foot down the Lane for about 15o yards, just the sound of the birds.
